The parking area doesn’t have marked spaces, so please be considerate of other cars when parking.
Coroteenu has a drive-thru, so please avoid parking right next to the shop.
I mention it casually, but honestly — having a drive-thru is such a wonderful bonus, especially on hot days!
It’s a bit hard to see, but the banner reads “Blue Seal” — Okinawa’s iconic ice cream brand!
Now I’m really excited!
The signboard out front advertises mango smoothies and Pork Tamago Onigiri (Okinawan-style spam-and-egg rice balls).
Wait — did I just drive all the way to Okinawa?! 😄

Coroteenu’s Recommended Menu

Kumamoto’s summer sun rivals Okinawa’s, and my ice cream was melting fast! But of course, I had to snap a photo first.
Unable to choose just one, I went with a Blue Seal double scoop of Almond Pistachio and Okinawan Taimo Cheesecake, plus a Kiwi Smoothie.
A lot of green going on, but hey — that’s a healthy-looking lineup!

It had been ages since I last had Blue Seal ice cream — not since my trip to Okinawa!
Fun fact: Coroteenu is the ONLY shop in Uki City where you can enjoy authentic Blue Seal ice cream!

The Almond Pistachio is loaded with chunky almond pieces, and the pistachio flavor pairs beautifully with them.
Makes sense — they’re both nuts! ♫
If you love nutty flavors, you’ll be in heaven. And here’s the Okinawan Taimo (taro) Cheesecake.
You can barely taste the taro at all — but every now and then, you bite into a delightful chunk of cheesecake hidden inside.
The cheese flavor is mild and never overpowering — absolutely delicious!I love the cute little decoration on the straw — it really adds to the tropical vibe! ♫
Kids will absolutely love it. I can already imagine my daughter saying, “I don’t want to throw it away!”

The Kiwi Smoothie is light and refreshing, with a gentle, mild tartness.
It was so fresh and cooling on a hot day that I gulped it down in no time!

The Mango Smoothie features mangoes shipped directly from Ishigaki Island in Okinawa — so after a visit to Coroteenu, you can practically say you’ve had a taste of Okinawa!Shiranui-machi in Uki City is steadily becoming a hot foodie destination.
Whether you make Coroteenu your main destination or stop by during a coastal drive along Kumamoto’s beautiful Yatsushiro Sea, it’s the perfect place to soak up some Okinawan vibes without leaving Kumamoto.
Definitely add it to your travel itinerary!
