Hello, fellow travelers!

I’m Binako, a writer for Sarukuma, and today I’m craving something sweet (well, usually spicy — but today, ice cream wins!).

The spot I’m introducing is located in Miyahara, Oguni Town, Aso District, Kumamoto Prefecture, and it’s called “Oguni Service Area Fusha”.

The restaurant has a wonderfully nostalgic, retro Japanese roadside-diner vibe. ^^
Ice cream orders are placed inside the shop.

Outside the shop, you’ll even spot a certain yellow electric mouse character standing guard (haha)!

The parking lot is right in front of and next to the shop, making it super convenient for road trippers. (^^♪
Inside, you’ll find table seating where you can enjoy a full lunch — perfect for a relaxing break during your Aso drive. (^^♪

They also sell take-home ice cream, which makes a lovely souvenir to bring back from your Kumamoto trip!

Recommended Menu

There are three ice cream sizes to choose from:
Single — 300 yen
Double — 380 yen
Mini Triple-Flavor — 350 yen
Honestly, the value here blew me away!

With a whopping 14 flavors to choose from, indecisive me had a serious dilemma!

Every single flavor looked delicious — I stared into the display case so hard I’m surprised I didn’t burn a hole through it. I genuinely wanted to try them all…

After much agonizing, I went with the Mini Triple-Flavor for 350 yen!

Three flavors in one cone — pure happiness!

I picked chocolate, black sesame, and cream cheese. (*´Д`)

Ohhhh yes!
It looked amazing — three flavors at once feels so luxurious — and all for just 350 yen. Unbeatable value.

The chocolate was light yet flavorful, with a rich, lingering aftertaste that kept me reaching for another bite!

My cream cheese photo unfortunately came out blurry, so no picture this time… but it was creamy and rich while still feeling refreshing — kind of like an elevated vanilla with a tangy twist. (*´ω`*)

The black sesame was bold and fragrant — that nutty aroma lingered beautifully even after each bite. So good!

Overall, the ice cream was light and easy to eat, yet still wonderfully rich and indulgent. (*´ω`*) A truly memorable treat.

If you’re driving through Aso, definitely make a stop here — you won’t regret it!
