About the Park

Hello there!
I’m Ayu-mama, a writer for “Sarukuma.”

Today I’d like to introduce you to a wonderful little spot in Taijima, Minami Ward, Kumamoto City:
Taijima Kita Park
It’s right next to YouMe Town Hamasen and Yamada Denki, so the location couldn’t be better!

Although it’s a small park, it’s beautifully maintained and incredibly clean.

There are benches with a roof for shade,

and uncovered ones too — two seating areas in total.

There are restrooms,

and a drinking water fountain too.

While there are no vending machines on-site, the YouMe Town shopping center is just steps away — so you’ll never go thirsty.
I’d highly recommend grabbing a bento (Japanese boxed lunch) from YouMe Town and enjoying it at the park!

What Makes This Park Special

There’s an adorable slide with a pointed roof,

a curious rope play structure (the kids will figure it out!),

swings,

animal-shaped spring riders,

and even a sandbox.

This is the park I bring my son to whenever he gets bored tagging along on shopping trips!
(Maybe he’s reaching that age where shopping with mom isn’t fun anymore?)

If you’re shopping in the area, this little gem is well worth a visit!
