Today I’d like to introduce a wonderful spot located in
Harumizu, Kikuyo Town, Kikuchi District, Kumamoto Prefecture:
“Kikuyo Suginamiki Park Sansan”.

Here’s the main entrance.

The parking lot is nice and spacious.

Right after entering the park, you’ll be greeted by a charming archway!

You’ll also find plenty of benches scattered throughout the park ☆

There’s a management center as well. They used to lend out balls and other play equipment here, but currently this service is suspended.

This is the multipurpose restroom at the management center.

A diaper-changing station is available in the women’s restroom.

It’s reassuring to know that staff are always on-site to manage the park!

From November to March, the park is open from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.

Closed days: Every Tuesday
(If Tuesday is a national holiday, the park closes the following Wednesday instead.)
Also closed December 28 to January 3.
Be sure to plan ahead!

Highlights & Recommended Features

As you walk through the front entrance and along the beautifully maintained flower-lined path, you’ll discover…

an absolutely massive open lawn area!

In the central area, families enjoy ball games,
while kids ride tricycles along the surrounding pathways.
Around the edges, you’ll see picnickers laying out blankets in the shade
and pitching tents on the grass — everyone’s having a blast! ☆

There’s also a beautiful water feature.

It’s full of large koi (Japanese carp) swimming around, and my son was absolutely thrilled!

We even spotted this gorgeous dragonfly!

I had never seen a pink one before ☺

There’s also a small waterfall surrounded by autumn maple leaves,

and even fountains!!

Two of them, no less!! (・o・)

The soothing sound of running water is so relaxing ♪
