Welcome to Fukuregi Komoriuta Park
Hello travelers! Suno here, writing for [Sarukuma].
Today we’re heading to Fukuregi in Amakusa-machi to explore
【Fukuregi Komoriuta Park】.
Head south along Route 24 (the Hondo–Shimoda Line),
turn left at “Fukuregi Komoriuta Direct Sales Magokoro Market,” follow the road, and you’ll soon spot this charming sign!
The park is located right next to “Fukuregi Auto Camp Ground,” so there’s plenty of free parking available.
A glance at the site map shows just how vast the grounds really are!
Cross the Yasuragi Bridge to enter the main park area.
Just past the bridge on your left, you’ll find the restrooms.
They’re separated by gender and feature traditional Japanese-style toilets.
The hand-washing station is located outside the restroom building.
There’s also a covered rest area with benches — the perfect spot for a picnic lunch!
Climb the hill behind it and you’ll discover an even better lookout perched on top of the mountain.
This is Yataro Pond, with a wooden bridge running right through the middle.
For little ones, it might feel a tiny bit thrilling!
Packing a change of clothes — just in case — is a smart idea. 😉
Also worth knowing: Shimoda Onsen is just a 10-minute drive away, perfect for soaking your tired feet on the way home!
Top Reasons to Visit Fukuregi Komoriuta Park
Tucked away in a quiet mountain valley, the “Ikoi no Hiroba” (Relaxation Plaza) is home to a massive wooden combination playground.
With long slides and adventure obstacles galore, the kids dashed straight for it the moment they saw it!
There’s a mini slide for younger kids, but the tallest tunnel slide is seriously exhilarating!
The artwork inspired by the famous Fukuregi lullaby (komoriuta) is absolutely adorable!
Fun fact: in mid-June, Fukuregi Komoriuta Park comes alive with magical swirls of genji fireflies!
The starry night sky is also breathtaking here — almost like a natural planetarium!
Only a campground this nestled in nature can offer views like these.
Look up — there’s a giant rhinoceros beetle and stag beetle on the ceiling!
Is that some kind of board game?
This is the first time we’ve ever seen one built into a park!
With bouldering walls, bridges, and tunnels, the playground feels like a maze adventure — kids never get bored.

You’ll also find swing-style seesaws and spring-mounted ride-on toys.
There are even hiking trails to explore, and in summer you can splash around in the shallow river or try your hand at fishing for river fish.
Whether camping with family or hanging out with friends, Fukuregi Komoriuta Park is the perfect place to spend an entire day in nature!
