Introducing Rumashiyo Coffee

Today I’m excited to introduce you to
“Rumashiyo Coffee,”
located in Nohara, Arao City, Kumamoto Prefecture.

You’ll find this gem right across from the 7-Eleven Arao Nohara store, near Nohara Hachimangu Shrine and Ishikawa Maternity Clinic!

Open weekends only.
When they’re closed, the banner flag won’t be out — that’s your easy way to tell!

On the day I visited (Golden Week holiday season), “Magari Curry” was also there as a special guest! \(◎o◎)/

Spice curry paired with great coffee — a match made in heaven.

And here’s Rumashiyo Coffee itself! (^^)/

Believe it or not, this food truck is handmade by the owner!
The unique blue-gray color is absolutely adorable and refreshingly different (⋈◍>◡<◍).✧♡

Even the seats are upcycled oil drums!
The creative sense here is off the charts…

Rumashiyo Coffee’s Recommended Menu

The menu features coffee, lattes,
and soft drinks including orange juice, guava juice, and hot milk (vanilla or caramel flavored).

Lattes can be made with soy milk on request — perfect for plant-based travelers!

They also offer scones and muffins!
(Word on the street is they sell out fast, so come early!)

This time, I tried:
Cafe Latte M — 320 yen
Dalgona Coffee M — 360 yen
Chocolate Chip Scone — 150 yen
Cacao Walnut Scone — 150 yen

The Dalgona Coffee comes topped with a thick, creamy whipped coffee layer — make sure to stir it well before sipping!

I’m no coffee expert, but I could immediately tell “These beans are freshly ground!” — it’s the real deal.
Since this area doesn’t have many coffee shops, having a spot like this is truly a blessing!

The scones have just a hint of saltiness, making them a perfect pairing with coffee.

The Cacao Walnut Scone has a mild sweetness — a great choice for kids too! (^^♪

It’s just about a 10-minute drive from Rumashiyo Coffee, and this season is absolutely the best time to visit (^^♪
