Hello, fellow travelers!
I’m Binako,
a food-loving writer for Sarukuma!

Today, I’m excited to introduce you to
a hidden gem in Kengun, Higashi-ku, Kumamoto City:
“Shoryuken”.

You’ll find Shoryuken right next to the Super Marushoku supermarket,
just head straight down Jieitai-dori (Self-Defense Force Street) and you can’t miss it!

And here’s where you can park your car — convenient and stress-free!

You can also dine in,
so it’s a great choice for both lunch and dinner!

For takeout, there’s a separate counter — just ring the bell
and a friendly staff member will come right out to assist you.

There’s even a self-serve chopstick station
for anyone who needs a pair!

Isn’t that such a thoughtful little touch?
Grab some chopsticks and you can dig into your gyoza piping hot, right after purchase!

And good news for cashless travelers — PayPay is accepted at checkout.

Recommended Menu

Here’s the takeout menu:

Gyoza — 1 serving (8 pieces) — 418 yen
Pan-fried — order from 1 serving
Frozen — order from 2 servings minimum

Fried Chicken (Karaage) — 680 yen
Fried Chicken Wings — 550 yen
Fried Pork Trotters — 480 yen

This time, I went with the pan-fried gyoza!

It even came with homemade chili pepper and dipping sauce — what a treat!

Just look at that beautiful shape!

These are unlike any gyoza I’ve ever seen.

I went all in and drizzled on a generous helping of dipping sauce.

The garlic aroma alone had me drooling — I couldn’t wait another second!

Itadakimasu! (Let’s eat!)

SO INCREDIBLY CRUNCHY!!!!

The vegetables have an amazing crisp texture!!
And the garlic flavor is absolutely delicious!!
The shape makes them so easy to pop in your mouth — you’ll lose count!

Even the kids couldn’t stop eating them.

It quickly turned into a friendly battle for the last piece!

I also tried a sprinkle of shichimi (Japanese seven-spice).
Even if you’re not a fan of spicy food, this is totally manageable!

It’s less “hot” and more of a flavorful accent!

Ahh — that crunchy, delicious goodness is unforgettable!

Craving gyoza today?

You absolutely have to give Shoryuken a try!
