📌 What You’ll Learn in This Article
A SaruKuma writer visits “Hi no Kuni Bunryu” in Kumamoto City and shares a firsthand report. Price range: from 590 yen. Includes family-friendly tips, access info, and opening hours.

Today we’re introducing
“Hi no Kuni Bunryu Sohonten,”
located in Toshima, Higashi-ku, Kumamoto City.

This is a nationally famous ramen shop,
and on weekends and during long holidays, you can count on a line out the door.

It’s not the kind of bowl that’s made for Instagram —
this is rich, unapologetic tonkotsu ramen,
but the flavor absolutely justifies the wait.

Recommended Menu

The obvious pick is the
Bunryu Tonkotsu (Black) for 590 yen.

Be sure to give it a try.

You can’t enter from the opposite lane,
so approach heading north from the south side.
The parking lot is fairly large,
but expect a substantial wait.
Come prepared!
Note that there don’t appear to be children’s chairs available, so plan accordingly!
