“Shiomaneki,” located in Matsushima, Kamiamakusa City, Kumamoto Prefecture.

You’ll find this restaurant right in front of the 5th Bridge along Route 266.
It sits in such a convenient spot that we always end up stopping by whenever we head out to Amakusa.

Recommended Menu Items

This time, we went with the affordable lunch seafood bowl (kaisendon) — a fantastic way to sample a variety of fresh fish in one dish!
In the evenings, you can also enjoy the fresh catch as a tasty appetizer paired with a drink — perfect for unwinding after a day of sightseeing!

By the way, the soft-serve ice cream here is delicious too.
Since the restaurant is right on the main road, it’s easy to spot!
Nearby, you’ll also find the stylish Resorla Terrace Amakusa, a great option for a casual café break.
