Looking for something fun to do during the autumn three-day weekend in Kumamoto? We have a wonderful family-friendly event to share with you for the final day of the holiday weekend!
On Monday, October 13 (Autumnal Equinox Day, a national holiday), JR Kumamoto City will host the “Childcare Support Festa 2025 in Amu Hiroba”!

From a baby crawling race to a wide variety of workshops and hands-on experiences hosted by parenting support organizations, this event is packed with activities families with little ones will love.

Between the crawling races, free physical education classes for infants and toddlers will also be held!
The venue is right next to JR Kumamoto Station, making it easy to access by public transportation — perfect for international visitors traveling with kids.
Come and enjoy a fun day out with the whole family!

Event Highlights

《 Baby Crawling Race on Tatami 》
・Morning session: 11:00 AM (registration from 10:30 AM)
・Afternoon session: 2:00 PM (registration from 1:30 PM)
*Free participation
*Same-day registration only (first 50 babies per session)
*Eligibility: babies around 1 year old who have not yet started walking
*All participants will receive a prize.
《 Tokotoko Physical Education Class 》
The popular Tokotoko Class from Toyoda Physical Education School (based in Mashiki Town) will be held on-site.
Drop-in participation is welcome — feel free to join!
・Session 1: 12:30 PM – 1:30 PM
・Session 2: 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM
*Free participation
*Same-day registration

《 Workshop Area 》

◇ Petapon Sparkly Art Plaza (Support House Piyo Piyo)
① Original keychain making
② One-of-a-kind placemat making
(Take-home craft kits are also available so you can create at home!)
・11:00 AM – 4:00 PM (every 15 minutes)
*Participation fee: 300 yen
*Limited to 50 groups per activity
*Reservations via the exhibitor’s official LINE account.

◇ Eco Stamp Custom Bag Making (Yutori)
① Create your very own original bag using stamps made from handprints, footprints, vegetable scraps, and recycled cardboard
・From 11:00 AM (every 15 minutes)
*Participation fee: 1,000 yen
*Same-day participation is also welcome
*Reservations via the exhibitor’s official LINE account.

◇ Mom & Dad Parenting Support Plaza (Kodemari Midwifery Clinic)
① Childcare and developmental consultation for babies up to age 1 (5–10 groups)
② Hands-on baby care experience and pregnancy simulator (10 groups)
・11:00 AM – 4:00 PM (30 minutes per group)
*Free participation

◆ Stamp Rally
Visit the booths of childcare-supporting companies and collect stamps along the way! Collect 5 stamps and exchange them for a gift at the reception desk.
