Today I’m excited to introduce a hidden gem located in Toyooka, Koshi City:

This stylish takeout shop opened in July 2023 ✨
PEEPS specializes in vibrant, multinational bento boxes that are as beautiful to look at as they are delicious!
You’ll also find fresh salads and an enticing drink menu.

PEEPS is conveniently located about 2 km from Yume Town Hikari no Mori and roughly 1.5 km from Amby Kumamoto.
Look for the sign in the parking area!

From the bento boxes to the creative drinks, every option looks absolutely tempting 👀✨

The colors are stunning — every box looks like it’ll lift your spirits ✨
The chocolate chunk cookies (250 yen) look incredible too 🍪
On the left side of the shop, you’ll find a beautiful display of curated products.
It’s hard not to get excited browsing through everything ♪
You’ll find local Aso amazake (sweet rice drink), dressings and tea leaves from Kumamoto Prefecture farms — perfect for taking home as souvenirs of Japan.

The takeout salads are displayed here too. The Salad of the Day looks delicious ✨The DELI corner had a quinoa salad on the day I visited — featuring the famous superfood!

Beautifully colored fresh vegetables 🍅
They even had domestically-grown lemons 🍋
I couldn’t resist picking up some lemons and tomatoes to take home!
Farm-fresh eggs are also for sale 🥚And there’s a selection of organic beverages too. Including organic fruit juices.
Great for sightseeing trips or pairing with your bento! Raw Bites organic energy bars come in adorable packaging 🥰
There are even unflavored, dye-free gummies ♪
A lovely place to grab healthy snacks if you’re traveling with kids!
Kids will love the bouncy ball lottery — just 50 yen per try!
Although PEEPS is primarily a takeout shop, there are tables and chairs set up outside, so you can enjoy your meal right there if you’d like.The parking lot beside the shop is nice and spacious.

PEEPS is open from 10:00 to 16:00, with bento sales starting at 11:00.

I went with the “Chicken Over Rice with Fresh Salsa” (850 yen) — featured on Japanese TV!

Ta-da! Just look at this — so beautifully colorful ✨
First, the dressing on the vegetables on the left side is absolutely delicious!
Golden turmeric rice is topped with juicy chicken and crisp vegetables.
The freshness of the tomato shines through — so good!
I devoured it in no time!
