Today I’m excited to introduce
Kumamoto City, Higashi Ward, Kuwamizu-honmachi‘s
【Suizenji Ezuko Park (Kamiezu Area)】.

Since I’m often asked how to get to Kamiezu Lake Park,
this time I’ll share the route from the East Bypass via the Taishima direction.
Just before the traffic light at Shimin Byoin-mae (City Hospital), turn left.
Whether you cross this bridge or not, you’ll still end up at Kamiezu Lake.
Don’t hesitate — just turn left.
Continue straight for about 200 meters, and you’ll see the parking lot.
Restrooms and vending machines are available too.
The wide grassy field is full of children playing ball games and running around freely.
There are plenty of rest areas and benches as well.
There’s even a boat dock.
The lush greenery and crystal-clear spring water are so soothing.
There are even outdoor fitness equipment stations.
Many visitors come here to walk or jog as well.

Recommended Highlights

Best of all, you can splash and play in the water almost anywhere in the park!
The water is shallow, so even small children can enjoy it safely.
Kids love wading into the stream to gather pebbles and twigs, crossing the stone bridges,
and chasing leaves they’ve sent floating down the current.
In summer, a pop-up tent and a change of clothes are absolute must-haves for this play spot.
