Top Reasons to Stay at Yunoko Umi to Yuyake
This time we stayed in a Japanese-style room! Since we had a small child with us, a tatami room was the most comfortable choice.
Western-style and Japanese-Western hybrid rooms are also available β in the hybrid rooms, they’ll even lay out futons on the tatami area for you.
And from your room β the sea, the sea, the sea everywhere you look!
At night, the suspension bridge in the distance lights up beautifully (*^^*)
The room comes with green tea and Kumamon-themed sweets (*^^*)
These sweets were so delicious that my son ended up buying some as a souvenir for himself (^^;
Here are the children’s amenities! (^Π·^)-β
It comes as a Kumamon set β my son was thrilled! (^Π·^)-β
Children’s yukata robes are available right next to the front desk, and you can pick the size that fits best (^-^)v
They can even adjust pillow heights and firmness for you too!
One thing I really felt during our stay: this is an incredibly family-friendly hotel!
Let me sum up some highlights! β (Just my personal impressions)
Family-Friendly Feature #1
A dedicated diaper bin in the room
It’s a double-lid odor-blocking design (^-^)
Children’s sandals in various sizes are also provided (^-^)v
Slippers can be tricky for little ones to walk in, so this is a wonderful touch (^-^)
Hand sanitizer is also placed in the room.
Family-Friendly Feature #2
Baby bath chairs and baby tubs in the bathing area!
So helpful when traveling with a baby (^-^)v
There’s also a baby changing station in the dressing area β total peace of mind (^-^)
Family-Friendly Feature #3
A dedicated nursing room (*^^*)
The interior is so cute! (^Π·^)-β
Family-Friendly Feature #4
A great selection of children’s high chairs, baby seats, and tableware β
There are three different chair sizes available β from baby seats up!
The restaurant staff were warm and attentive β they helped with the kids and brought drinks for us, so we were finally able to enjoy a relaxing meal (*^^*)
β Other Highlights β
Highlight #1: The beach is just a short walk away
Here’s the walking path from the hotel.
Take a leisurely stroll while enjoying the sea breeze (^-^)
Highlight #2: Fishing fun for everyone
Even kids can easily catch a wide variety of fish β horse mackerel (aji), scorpionfish (garakabu), black sea bream (chinu), squid, and more! (^-^)v
Highlight #3: A spectacular sunset view from the terrace
Highlight #4: The open-air observation bath has the same stunning sea and sunset views β Other guests were there so I couldn’t take photos β you’ll have to discover this magical view in person! (^-^)
Highlight #5
The food is absolutely fantastic!
Both dinner and breakfast are buffet-style β sashimi, sushi, steak, carpaccio, simmered fish heads (aradaki), and fish soup (arajiru). Everything is delicious! β Photo shows just a tiny portion
The Minamata specialty cutlassfish (tachiuo) sashimi and overnight-dried tachiuo were absolutely heavenly! (β0β)οΌ~~
Their famous curry rice β served in different flavors at breakfast and dinner β is another must-try. It’s wonderfully aromatic with spices yet mild enough for kids: a curry the whole family can enjoy β
For unforgettable summer memories with the [Rediscover Kumamoto Trip] campaign, we highly recommend ‘Yunoko Umi to Yuyake’!
