Introducing the Park

Hello, fellow travelers!
This is Asukarando, a writer for Sarukuma.

Today I’m taking you to a wonderful seaside spot in Hama, Minamata City, Kumamoto Prefecture:
Yunoko Park (湯の児公園).

This lovely park sits right beside the famous Yunoko Onsen hot springs and the scenic Yunoko Coast.

The parking lot is spacious with plenty of room for many vehicles (^-^)

Restrooms are right here (^-^)
There’s even a multi-purpose accessible restroom available.

A handwashing station is conveniently located at the park entrance.

And there’s another handwashing station right in the center of the park.

You’ll also find a covered rest area — perfect for a shaded break (^-^)v

And here’s a bonus surprise!
There’s a second, even larger covered rest area right next to the parking lot (^-^)v
Vending machines are easy to find too, since the park is part of the surrounding hot spring resort area.

Why You’ll Love This Park

The star attraction at Yunoko Park is undoubtedly…

The amazing pirate ship playground! \(^o^)/

Can you spot my little one in the photo?
Already exploring inside the ship! (^^;

With the sound of waves and the salty sea breeze in the air,
kids feel like real pirates on an adventure (^-^)

And there’s a variety of slides to enjoy too!

Just beyond the parking lot, you’ll be greeted by a magnificent open view of the sea!
The wide open space in front of the ocean is another perfect spot for kids to run and play (^-^)v

And here’s an exciting bonus — you can fish right from here!

If you plan to fish, we strongly recommend wearing a life jacket for safety.
You can catch squid, octopus, horse mackerel (aji), and many other fish species \(^o^)/

Imagine this: gaze at the ocean while fishing, let the kids enjoy the playground, then unwind at the famous Yunoko Onsen hot springs on your way home.
Doesn’t that sound like the perfect getaway? Highly recommended! (^-^)v
