About Ringodo Koshi Shop
Hello everyone! This is Riri, your Sarukuma travel writer.

Today I’m taking you to a delightful little spot tucked inside “Vivre,” the community building right next to Koshi City Hall!

You’ll spot it instantly thanks to its charming, eye-catching logo.
This is Ringodo Koshi Shop, a specialty candy apple (ringo-ame) store that opened on July 1, 2023.
Wait β even Suzanne, the famous Kumamoto-born TV personality, has stopped by here?!
With so many flavors lined up, it’s hard to pick just one!
Recommended Menu at Ringodo Koshi Shop
The best-selling flavor is the White Chocolate candy apple β 580 yen (or 660 yen pre-cut, tax included).
The shop manager’s personal favorite is the Double Berry White Chocolate β 660 yen (or 740 yen pre-cut, tax included).

Kids absolutely love the limited-edition flavors, especially the strikingly colorful Ramune Soda (whole 580 yen / cut 660 yen, tax included) and Double Apple (whole 580 yen / cut 660 yen, tax included).
Just look at how dazzling these candy apples are! β‘
I have fond childhood memories of nibbling candy apples at Japanese summer festival stalls β but trust me, the flavor here is on a whole other level!
If you’ve ever tried a traditional festival-style candy apple, you absolutely have to taste this modern version!

There’s even a cute Instagram-worthy photo spot inside the shop!

The entire path from the parking lot to the restrooms is barrier-free, so strollers and wheelchairs can roll right through with ease π΅
If you’re not planning to eat your candy apple within 30 minutes, go for the whole, uncut version β it’s actually 80 yen cheaper and travels beautifully!
A simple cutting guide is included in the package, so slicing it at home is a breeze.
Pre-cut apples can discolor over time, and either version will eventually melt, so be sure to pop them in the fridge as soon as you get home.
While Ringodo’s previous Kengun branch is currently closed for relocation, you can still visit their other locations β Hasemen, Shiroyama, Shimotori, Ozu, Yatsushiro, and Hitoyoshi (plus shops in Fukuoka and Miyazaki, too!).
Each location offers slightly different flavors, including some unique options like Uji matcha and pistachio, so it’s fun to compare.
These candy apples are as gorgeous to look at as they are delicious β be sure to add Ringodo to your Kumamoto travel itinerary!
