About Shikoudori Park

Hello travelers! This is Asukarando, writer for [Sarukuma].

Today I’d like to introduce
[Shikoudori Park], located in Koga, Yamaga City, Kumamoto.

I discovered this lovely park with both an open field and playground equipment, so let me share it with you (*^.^*)

The parking lot is on the smaller side, with only 4 spaces.

On the opposite side, there’s a dedicated bicycle parking area, which is generously sized.

The vending machine is conveniently located right beside the restroom at the park’s entrance (^-^)v

The restroom even has a diaper-changing table — a wonderful bonus for families traveling with babies (^^)

There’s also a child-sized toilet seat, so parents of small children can feel at ease (^-^)v

The restroom sink even comes with foaming hand soap!
You rarely find a park that goes this far — being able to wash hands properly is genuinely appreciated!

There are covered benches that everyone uses as a shared rest area (*^.^*)

Plenty of additional benches are placed all around the park as well.

The hand-washing area also has a child-height drinking fountain — secretly a lifesaver, since little ones can drink water on their own without being lifted up!

There’s even a small flowing water spot where the kids were happily playing (^^)

Why We Recommend Shikoudori Park

The wide open field is like a sports ground — perfect for catch, soccer, tag, or just about any active game you can think of!

And there’s an exciting playground structure too!

It has so many different ways to climb up that kids actually have to choose which route they want to try.

For little ones, this gentle stair-style climb is the easiest starting point! (^3^)/

They headed up toward the spiral slide, but the first drop turned out to be steeper than expected — my little girl quickly called for her big brother’s help (^^)

And then she came sliding down on her own with a little push from behind…lol
She loved it so much, she did it over and over with the biggest smile on her face (^-^)v

The swings come in two styles — regular and with a backrest — so even kids who are just learning to swing can give it a try (^-^)v

The spring rocker is also a fun, eye-catching design, and kids were happily taking turns on it (*^.^*)

I spotted illumination wires too, so the park is likely lit up at night.
There are also street lamps inside the park — a place that’s lovely both day and night is truly something special (^^)

Tucked away in a peaceful spot, Shikoudori Park is packed with thoughtful touches that make it a wonderful pick for families (*^.^*)

There are even cherry blossom trees, so it’s bound to be beautiful during hanami (cherry blossom viewing) season!
