Today we’re heading to
Ohama-machi, Amakusa City, Kumamoto Prefecture, to visit
[Izakaya Daishugo]!
At lunchtime, this izakaya transforms into a casual restaurant with a huge variety of set menus.
We dropped by on a Saturday at lunchtime, and the parking lot was nearly full — clearly a local favorite!
Right at the entrance, you’ll find an aquarium and a live fish tank — our kids were glued to it!
*The live tank photo came out hilariously blurry, so we couldn’t share it…
Water and tea are self-service. Even the hand-washing area outside the restrooms is beautifully decorated. Such a nice touch!
Inside, you can choose between regular tables, traditional zashiki tatami seating,
or even private rooms!
There are also large tatami rooms, perfect for relaxing meals with bigger groups ♪
Orders are placed via touchscreen tablets — convenient even if your Japanese isn’t perfect.
