Introducing Kawaguchi Children’s Park

Hello, this is Aikero, a writer for [Sarukuma].

Today I’m introducing a park located in Kawaguchi-machi, Minami-ku, Kumamoto City
[Kawaguchi Children’s Park].

This park was actually featured on Sarukuma back in 2022 by writer Maru-san, but at the time some of the play equipment was under maintenance.
The construction is long finished now, and since it’s such a great spot, I wanted to introduce it again! (^^)/
The weather wasn’t great when I visited, but this might just be a hidden gem!!And there’s parking on-site!
Neighborhood parks in town often don’t have parking, which can make them tough to visit…But no worries here!
This park has space for 11 cars! There is a restroom, but it’s a bit older and not the cleanest (^_^;)
And since there are no shops nearby, it’s hard to take care of things beforehand either (>_<)There’s a drinking fountain too, though it has a rather unusual design (^_^;)There’s an open plaza in the back!
This is the only bench, but you can also sit on the stones surrounding the plaza.Behind the parking lot, there are oak trees with tons of acorns scattered on the ground!
If your kids love acorn hunting, this is the perfect spot ★

Top Highlights of Kawaguchi Children’s Park

The first thing that catches your eye — this little hill!
I hope the photos do it justice, because it’s surprisingly tall (^○^)
Kids will be unable to resist climbing it!
There’s even a stone staircase on one side.
Look what’s at the top of the hill! Here’s the view from the hilltop.
It’s actually quite a spacious park~
There are swings, too.
And a seesaw.
The tire really does add to the fun, doesn’t it?
There’s even play equipment like this~ (^O^)/
Kids can use their whole bodies to play! ♪
And finally, the star attraction! (^○^)
You’d think a park with a hill AND this much play equipment would be packed, right?

Maybe it was the weather, but on this Sunday afternoon we had the place all to ourselves (●^o^●)
Sure, the restrooms, drinking fountain, and lack of nearby amenities aren’t perfect (^_^;)
But you can climb up from anywhere on the hill!
You can already picture kids climbing up, sliding down, and going right back up — endless on repeat (●^o^●)The slide is pretty thrilling, too!

Despite a few small drawbacks, this park has parking and the bonus of acorn hunting.
And since there’s a small hill, don’t forget to bring a piece of cardboard or grass-skiing gear for sliding down!
With its all-in-one play structure and tons of room to run, this is a park well worth a visit (●^o^●)
