Introducing Araki Park

Hello, travelers! I’m Asukarando, a writer for SaruKuma.

Today I’m excited to introduce a hidden gem located in Arakimachi, Kita Ward, Kumamoto City:
Araki Park.

Tucked away in Arakimachi, Kita Ward, Kumamoto City, Araki Park turned out to be such a relaxing and easygoing spot that I just had to share it with you (*^.^*)

A large tree stands proudly in the center of the park, naturally dividing the open space into two cozy play areas β€” just the right size for a relaxing visit!

There’s a covered rest area right in the middle of the park (^^)
From here you can see the entire park β€” the perfect spot to sit, relax, and keep an eye on the kids!

A handwashing station is conveniently located near the center of the park.

Here are the park’s posted rules and guidelines for visitors!

What Makes Araki Park Special

There’s a slide built up on a slightly raised platform β€” kids will love it (*^.^*)

There are two slides side by side: a wavy bumpy one and a classic smooth one!

The bright red double-lane slide design adds a fun, exciting touch (^-^)v

Interestingly, the kids only wanted to slide down the wavy one β€” I guess the bumps make it more fun?

There are stairs to climb up, but this side looks way more fun (^3^)/

It seems harder than the regular stairs, but the kids kept choosing this side every single time (^^)

There are swings, too!

The park is a comfortable size, and because the big tree in the center splits the space into two areas, one group can play with a ball on one side while another plays catch on the other β€” everyone gets to enjoy themselves \(^_^)(^_^)/

There’s also a magnificent cherry blossom (sakura) tree, which means in spring this park transforms into a wonderful spot for hanami β€” Japan’s beloved cherry blossom viewing tradition (*^.^*)

While there’s a road in front of the park, it actually dead-ends just past the entrance, so traffic is very light and the area feels safe and peaceful β˜†β˜†β˜†

I stumbled upon this lovely quiet park and ended up staying until the evening, just enjoying the peaceful atmosphere (*^.^*)
