Introducing Ono Park
Hello travelers! I’m Suno, a writer for [Sarukuma].
Today I’m taking you to Ono, Matsubase Town, Uki City, to visit
[Ono Park].
Ono Park sits directly across from the Uki City Hall and is conveniently adjacent to Ono Shrine β a wonderful two-in-one spot for visitors who want to mix nature, play, and a touch of Japanese culture.
The parking lot has space for 5 cars.
Just inside the entrance, you’ll spot a classic seesaw.
And of course, swings.
The day we visited, it had just rained, and puddles meant we couldn’t quite use them β a reminder to check the weather before you head out!
Two colorful slides side by side β a hit with kids.
The steps are gentle and easy for little legs to climb.
Right beside it, you’ll find monkey bars at two different heights.
Even my 2-year-old daughter could make it all the way across the lower set!
There’s also a generously sized sandbox tucked underneath the slides.
And a spinning jungle gym β a nostalgic piece of Japanese playground equipment.
You don’t see this kind of merry-go-round structure in many parks anymore!
When I gave it a gentle spin from the outside, my daughter happily climbed in to enjoy the ride β eyes wide with curiosity βͺ
Why You’ll Love Ono Park
Ono Park sits right next to Ono Shrine.
You can pay your respects at the shrine and then take a leisurely stroll through the park β a peaceful slice of local Japanese life βͺ
The stone benches scattered around make perfect resting spots.
Near the parking area, you’ll find vending machines and restrooms.
Note: the toilets are unisex traditional Japanese-style (squat) toilets β something interesting to experience for first-time visitors to Japan!
Hand-washing stations and drinking water taps are also available, so don’t worry about getting a little messy ~.
There’s also a wide grassy field framed by impressive cherry blossom trees.
Come spring, this becomes a fantastic hanami (cherry blossom viewing) spot βͺ
For parents juggling the daily challenges of raising kids, this little park is a real gem.
Why not try the perfect combo: a visit to Ono Shrine followed by playtime at Ono Park?
It’s especially lovely when the cherry blossoms are in full bloom in spring βͺ
