Introducing ASO MILK FACTORY

Hello there!
It’s Binako, your Sarukuma writer who’s completely lost track of what day it is!

Today I’m excited to introduce you to
“ASO MILK FACTORY”, located in Ori, Aso City, Kumamoto Prefecture.

This location used to be home to “Hana Asobi,” but
it has now reopened as “ASO MILK FACTORY,”
directly operated by Abe Farm!

There’s a spacious parking lot right in front of the shop.
It’s the perfect spot for a family drive stop along your Aso adventure!

Step inside and you’ll be greeted by beautifully arranged sets of Abe Farm’s signature “Aso Grasslands Tobu Ushi (Flying Cow) Cookies.”

Just looking at this display feels like a treat in itself!

Here’s something little ones (especially boys) will absolutely love!
A whole collection of “working vehicle” toys including tractors!

Once they spot these, you won’t be pulling them away for at least 30 minutes! (laughs)

You’ll also find a wonderful selection of fresh seasonal vegetables.

Everything looks fresh and delicious β€” and at very reasonable prices too!

They also stock artisanal jams, soy sauces, and other condiments.
Everything is made with carefully selected ingredients β€” you could browse for hours!

The Japanese pickle (tsukemono) section is incredibly well-stocked!
From takana rice seasoning to yuzu daikon β€” perfect souvenirs to take home a taste of authentic Japan.

And lined up like jewels is the famous
three-star award-winning ASO MILK, recognized at the highest level by the International Taste Institute.

You can choose from 200ml (210 yen) or 900ml (740 yen) sizes.

There are sweets too!
Chiffon cakes, fruit annin tofu β€” every single one calls out to me.
The drinkable yogurt looks tempting as well.

At the back of the shop, you’ll discover a charming cafΓ© space with a wonderful atmosphere.

On sunny days, definitely make use of the lovely terrace seating!

The restroom is equipped with a diaper changing table too,
so families with little ones can shop with peace of mind.

ASO MILK FACTORY’s Must-Try Menu Items

The cafΓ© space has a delicious menu you can enjoy on-site!
The “Baum Soft” and other treats look absolutely irresistible.

Yes, here it is β€” the famous “Baum Soft” (500 yen)!
An exclusive dessert you can ONLY find at ASO MILK FACTORY.

What an indulgent treat!

There’s also a wide selection of gelato flavors to choose from.

The customers sitting next to me were happily exclaiming
“This is so delicious!” with such joy on their faces
that I almost ordered a second helping myself!

Here are the drinks and soft serve ice cream.
The soft serve features the exclusive “Granola Cone”
that’s only available here.

I just realized this now β€” I really should have ordered one!

Today I went with
the Baum Soft (500 yen)!

Just look at this beauty… pure happiness that beats any guilt!
The weather was lovely so I enjoyed it on the terrace.

For dessert lovers, this combination is simply heavenly.

Time to dig in!

The luxurious soft serve made with plenty of ASO MILK
is silky smooth, refreshingly light, yet wonderfully rich!

The cool, melt-in-your-mouth softness pairs beautifully
with the sweet, dense richness of the baumkuchen β€” a totally different texture experience.

The way they generously fill the soft serve into the baumkuchen
truly maximizes the flavor of both…

Honestly, 500 yen is incredible value for this!

Whether it’s a quick stop on your scenic drive through Aso, picking up unique souvenirs,
or grabbing fresh ingredients for dinner β€” there are so many ways to enjoy this gem.
