About the Shop

Hello, travelers!

Lately my child has been talking in their sleep,
and I find myself grinning ear to ear listening to it.
I’m Binako, a writer for SaruKuma!

Today I’m excited to introduce you to
Taiyaki Cafe Marukin,
located in Chuo-Shinmachi, Amakusa City, Kumamoto Prefecture.

Round taiyaki?!
I had to see it for myself!
The curiosity alone made me drive all the way to Amakusa just to visit Marukin (*´艸｀*)

There’s one parking space right in front of the shop ^^

Sizzle, sizzle!

The moment I stepped inside, I spotted the taiyaki molds in action — and I was instantly hooked just watching them work their magic.

They even have a Kumamon-shaped mold —
seriously, how cute is that?

You’ll also find baby rompers and
adorable little knick-knacks for sale.

There’s an eat-in space too,
so you can relax with kids or friends without rushing.

Table seating is available, plus kids’ chairs,
so little ones can settle in comfortably for a relaxed family outing (*´艸｀*).

And here’s their newest treat —
Marukin Candy!!

Takoyaki — Takeout 420 yen / Eat-in 430 yen
Set Menu — 550 yen
Various drinks

Taiyaki — 152 yen
Flavors: Anko (sweet red bean), Mix (anko + custard cream)

Kumamon-yaki — 122 yen
Filled with custard cream
Today I tried the
Taiyaki — 152 yen!!

That perfectly round shape is just too cute…

Warm, fluffy, and absolutely delicious!!
The anko isn’t overly sweet, and since it’s chunky red bean paste,
you get that wonderful texture in every bite ♪

The red bean paste melts in your mouth — pure perfection ♪

Next up, I tried the
Kumamon-yaki — 122 yen!!

I mean… how can you resist that adorable Kumamon face?

Sorry, Kumamon — I had to break you in half!

The custard tastes wonderfully homemade,
with a gentle sweetness and silky-smooth texture!
It’s so light and easy to eat,
you can finish it in no time at all (*´艸｀*)

With their cute shapes and irresistible flavors,
these treats are sure to delight kids and adults alike (^^♪
