Introducing Salon de Thé “Le Lien”
Hello, travelers!
I’m Binako, a writer for Sarukuma, still trying to figure out what foods my kids actually like!
Today I’m excited to introduce you to a charming spot located in Nihongi, Nishi-ku, Kumamoto City, Kumamoto Prefecture:
“Le Lien”.

The KAB (Kumamoto Asahi Broadcasting) building is just nearby, making it easy to find.

You’ll also find “Care Home Danke” sharing the same property.
The parking lot in front of the shop fits about two cars.

The atmospheric, European-inspired exterior had me admiring before I even stepped inside.

The interior is colorful yet wonderfully calming — a magical contrast.
The background music has a Disney-like charm that adds to the dreamy atmosphere.

Solo travelers, rejoice — there’s also a counter section, perfect for a quiet meal alone.
The counter itself is beautifully designed, too.
Recommended Menu at Salon de Thé “Le Lien”

The weekday-only lunch menu starts at just 900 yen — incredible value!
Please note that the menu may change in the future, so use this as a general guide.

Other tempting options include sandwiches (1,000 yen) and beef hayashi rice (1,900 yen).
Everything sounds irresistible, doesn’t it?

The “Parfait” here was created by a French chef and is made by chilling and setting fresh cream blended with coffee.
It’s actually the original French dessert that inspired today’s modern parfait — a sweet piece of culinary history!
Seasonal parfaits are also available, perfect for sharing with friends or family.

The drink menu features unique, special selections you won’t easily find elsewhere.

This time, I went for the Daily Lunch Special (990 yen).
The day I visited, it featured a hire-katsu (pork tenderloin cutlet) — instant excitement!

The crispy coating was light and not heavy at all, and the meat was beautifully tender.
The sweet-and-savory sauce paired perfectly with the rice.
Speaking of which — the rice itself was absolutely delicious.
It’s a must-try!

The side dish of hiyayakko (chilled silken tofu) was a brilliant choice.
Its smooth, refreshing texture makes it irresistibly easy to enjoy.

The hearty, vegetable-packed soup was deeply satisfying.
With the natural sweetness of the vegetables, it was warm and comforting to the soul.

For dessert, the pâtissier crafts a beautiful creation inspired by “hanachozu” — the floral water basins traditionally found at Japanese shrines.
I love foods with a story behind them.
There’s something so wonderful about savoring a dish while reflecting on its meaning.

Fresh fruit topped a refreshing jelly, with rich pistachio mousse hidden underneath.
That pistachio mousse was unbelievably rich and wonderfully fragrant.
Pistachio fans will absolutely love this!

Even the complimentary ice water had a lovely aroma — a delightful surprise!

It was the kind of place where you feel happy just being there.
If you’re visiting Kumamoto, please give Le Lien a try — you won’t regret it!
