πŸ“Œ What You’ll Learn in This Article
A Sarukuma writer visits “Emiya,” a food truck that roams across Kumamoto Prefecture. Prices start from 600 yen. We’ve also rounded up family-friendly tips, access info, and opening hours.

About Emiya

Hello travelers! I’m Kurubushi 🦢, a writer for Sarukuma.

Today I’d like to introduce you to a fantastic food truck called
Emiya (pronounced “eh-mee-yah”).
It’s run by Kushi Dining Emiya, a popular izakaya (Japanese pub) located in Yomoyori-machi, Kita-ku, Kumamoto City.
The truck travels to various markets and events all over Kumamoto Prefecture, so keep an eye out!

The Emiya food truck sports a sleek, dark gray design.
Their signature items appear to be “Emi Karaage” (Japanese-style fried chicken) and “Emi Tebasaki” (chicken wings)!
I also spotted “Casse-croΓ»te Dog” written on the menu β€” intriguing!

Let’s dive right in!

Emiya’s Recommended Menu

While I was eyeing the fluffy omurice flag with curiosity, I asked the staff what they recommended.

The answer? “Freshly Fried Emi Karaage” and “Can’t-Stop Emi Tebasaki”!
I knew it! You could practically taste how delicious they were just from the photos!
Naturally, I took both home with me β™ͺ

First up: Emi Karaage (600 yen).
One bite, and…

Crispy, crunchy, juicy…

Excuse me β€” could I get a beer, please?!

This is exactly the kind of karaage you only get at a real izakaya β€” totally different from homemade or supermarket versions.
That perfect crispy-juicy texture combined with a rich soy sauce flavor is absolutely irresistible!

Close your eyes while eating, and you’ll feel like you’re sitting in a cozy Japanese pub (lol).

The Emi Tebasaki (150 yen per skewer) was incredibly juicy and flavorful too!

And since they’re served on skewers, your hands stay clean β€” a huge plus!

My 3-year-old daughter happily chomped through hers without saying a word (^^)

The menu also includes Shaka Shaka Potatoes (500 yen), Cream Cheese & Shiso Spring Rolls (200 yen each), and Emiya’s Pudding (400 yen), plus much more.

And I keep coming back to the Demi-glace Omurice (700 yen) and Ketchup Omurice (700 yen) β€” they look amazing!
I’m definitely getting them next time.

That Casse-croΓ»te Dog also caught my eye!
A French-style hot dog!
It’s got to be delicious.

From hearty meals to bar snacks and even desserts, this food truck has it all. If you spot it around Kumamoto, don’t hesitate to stop by β™ͺ
