Introducing Teppan Shokudo 141

Hello travelers! This is Asukarando, writer for [Sarukuma].

Today I’m introducing a wonderful spot located in Hanazono, Nishi-ku, Kumamoto City:
[Teppan Shokudo 141].

When I heard that a delightful set-meal restaurant had opened diagonally across from the previously introduced Hanazono Children’s Center, I rushed right over to try it out (*^.^*)

[Hanazono Children’s Center – Hanazono, Nishi-ku, Kumamoto] A children’s center perfect for siblings, fun for kids up to elementary school age!

Notice the cute illustration of a teppan spatula (“hera”) on the sign!

Parking is conveniently located in front of the restaurant.

You’re also welcome to park in the empty lot next door (^^)

Inside Teppan Shokudo 141, you’ll find both counter seating and table seating.

I arrived just before noon on a weekday and luckily caught a quiet moment to take photos.
But shortly after, customers started pouring in and the restaurant filled up in no time! (^3^)/
If you want to be sure of a seat, I’d recommend arriving early or making a reservation.

There’s also a semi-private table area.
If you reserve in advance for a group with children, they can guide you to this section (*^.^*)

Lunching out with kids can get a little lively, so this slightly secluded spot is perfect for relaxing away from other customers (*^.^*)

Teppan Shokudo 141 Recommended Menu

Now, time to stare down the menu!!

The Daily Set Meal? Or the dish bearing the restaurant’s name…?????

Well, of course! I had to go with the signature dish:

The 141 Special Set β€” order placed!!

The hamburger patty was hand-shaped right after I ordered!

Everything is grilled on this large teppan iron griddle, and that sizzling sound while you wait is simply mouthwatering β€” yes, the deliciousness starts before the food even arrives! (^3^)/

And here arrives the 141 Special Set on a large tray~!!

The main plate is loaded with hamburger steak, fried white fish, karaage, vegetable tempura, macaroni salad, and fresh garden salad.

It also comes with rice, miso soup, lotus root kinpira (sweet-savory stir-fry), shiratama dango (sweet rice dumplings), and pickles.

The hamburger steak was wonderfully fluffy β€” when you cut into it with a knife, juicy meat flavors burst out, paired with a light, gentle demi-glace sauce that’s absolutely delicious! (^3^)/

I’d planned to share with my child, but it was almost entirely claimed by them~ (>.<)y-~

Seriously, it was THAT good!!!

The other dishes held their own against the star hamburger β€” every single item was delicious. The tartar sauce on the fried white fish had crisp, fresh onion bits that added a wonderful crunch.

The miso soup was packed with several kinds of vegetables, and the dashi broth was rich and flavorful (^^)

Children’s cutlery is also provided.
The plates are generously sized β€” perfect for sharing.

They even brought out a small portion of plain rice for my child.

After the meal, I enjoyed a cup of self-serve coffee.

The 141 Special Set also comes with ice cream β€” naturally, my child was thrilled to gobble it up~ (^3^)/

Teppan Shokudo 141 truly serves wonderfully delicious teppan-style dishes as affordable set meals.

Curious about the name “141”? I had to ask the staff! And I got the very answer I’d suspected (^^)
If you’re curious too, you’ll just have to visit and find out for yourself (*^.^*)
