Welcome to Ramen-dokoro Tenshin

Hello travelers! It’s Suno, your guide from [SaruKuma].

Today I’m taking you to a truly unique spot in Tomiai-machi, Minami-ku, Kumamoto City:
[Ramen-dokoro Tenshin]. Look for the bold “Rich Tonkotsu” (濃厚豚骨) signage — you can’t miss it!
Right on the same lot, you’ll also spot Nippon-ichi Taiyaki Tomiai branch, famous for its Japan-No.1 fish-shaped pastries.

The Tenshin parking lot fits about 6 cars (including 2 spaces for kei-cars), so driving in is easy.Step inside and you’ll find a ticket vending machine — a classic Japanese ramen shop experience. Now, what to choose…Since I came with my child, I went for the signature Tenshin Ramen!
My friend told me their champon noodles were also amazing — definitely tempting for next time! There are three traditional tatami (zashiki) tables that seat four people each — perfect for families. There are also 2 standard tables. To the right of the entrance, there’s a counter with 4 seats — great for solo travelers.Western-style restrooms are available, with separate ones for men and women. They also offer kids’ chairs and a manga collection — a thoughtful touch for families!

Hmm? While waiting, I spotted something interesting on the table…
Keeping kids entertained while waiting for food can be tough, right? They’ve placed fun trivia cards on the tables to make the wait enjoyable!

Flip them over and you’ll find quirky bits of trivia that’ll make you chuckle. A delightful little surprise — be sure to check them out when you visit! And here it comes! Tenshin Ramen — ¥780

That rich tonkotsu (pork bone) broth was exactly what my cold body needed — pure comfort in a bowl.
The flavor is wonderfully mellow, so even my daughter slurped up the noodles happily!“Yummy! Yummy!” she kept saying between mouthfuls.
They’ll happily lend you a noodle cutter and kid-friendly tableware — a real lifesaver for parents traveling with little ones!

For slightly older kids, there’s also
Kids’ Ramen ¥600 (preschool age) and Middle Ramen ¥950 (elementary school grades 1–6).

And here’s the best part — all of these come with the buffet included! Perfect for hungry growing kids!

Tenshin even has a take-home ramen vending machine outside!
It operates 24/7, so if a midnight tonkotsu craving hits, you’re covered! (laughs)
