Today I’m excited to introduce you to
Shimoezu, Higashi-ku, Kumamoto City‘s very own
【Menshokoro Teshio Honten】, a wonderful ramen shop you won’t want to miss!

You’ll find the shop near Ezu Elementary School,
directly across from Inomata Eye Clinic!

Previously located in Kuhonji, the shop has now relocated
to this lovely spot in Seira Town!

This time, I came along because a friend insisted, “The Teshio ramen I had at the Kuhonji location was amazing — let’s check out the new place too!” So off we went! (*^▽^*)

There are 3 parking spots in front of the shop, plus a second parking lot for added convenience!

The second parking lot is conveniently located right across the street from the shop!

Operating hours: 11:30 AM – 2:30 PM and 6:00 PM – 9:30 PM!
Closed on Wednesdays!

Inside, you’ll find counter seating,

table seating,

and even a traditional Japanese tatami room!

It features a horigotatsu (sunken kotatsu table) — kids absolutely love it! (≧▽≦)

The interior carries a wonderful aroma of natural wood — so calming and authentic!

October’s Limited-Edition Bowl features:

Asari Clam & Japanese Dashi Salt Butter Ramen — ¥800

Autumn Salmon & Ikura Two-Color Rice Bowl — ¥500 — a perfect seasonal pairing!

The regular menu includes:

Signature Salt Ramen — ¥750

Soy Sauce Ramen — ¥800

A variety of toppings are also available!

Recommended Menu Item

This time, I ordered the 【Signature Salt Ramen — ¥750】!

Just look at that broth! The clarity is incredible!
This is what authentic shio (salt) ramen is all about!

Tiny crunchy arare-style rice crackers are sprinkled throughout the broth, adding a delightful textural surprise!

The noodles are thin, smooth, and pleasantly chewy ☆
The meatballs are perfectly seasoned and wonderfully juicy! (≧▽≦)

Honestly, this would be the perfect finishing bowl after enjoying kushikatsu and oden with drinks in the evening!

My friend ordered the 【Asari Clam & Japanese Dashi Salt Butter Ramen】 with the 【Ochazuke Set (grated yam)】!

She loved it too,
and polished it off in no time! (*’ω’*)

For the ochazuke, you actually pour the ramen broth over the rice — what a brilliant idea!
I was genuinely impressed — such a clever twist on a classic Japanese dish! ♬
