Today I’m introducing a wonderful spot located in Hikari-no-Mori, Kikuyo Town, Kikuchi District, Kumamoto Prefecture —
“TEA & BAKE”.

The shop is conveniently located inside YouMe Town Hikari-no-Mori shopping mall.
Since it’s right in the mall, you can shop and dine all in one trip —
perfect for a relaxing day out with the kids!

The display case is filled with tempting wrap sandwiches —
a healthy yet satisfying lunch option!

Tuna Melt — 480 yen
Salmon & Avocado — 480 yen
Chicken Salad — 480 yen

They also sell freshly baked breads!

Pain au Chocolat — 160 yen

And here are the pies — the star of the show!
With 6 varieties to choose from, they’re perfect for sharing.
From sweet pies to savory ones, there’s something for every craving.

Inside the café, you’ll find both tables and cozy sofa seating.
They kindly provide small plates for sharing,
and even kids’ chairs are available — making it a stress-free spot for families!

Since I visited during lunch hour, the lunch menu was on offer!

Your choice of sweet pie + soft serve ice cream + drink
Salty Pie Set — 850 yen

They also serve tapioca (bubble tea) drinks!
Fresh varieties like fruit soda and tea soda put a creative twist on the bubble tea trend.

And of course, there’s doria (Japanese-style baked rice gratin) too!

À la carte — 780 yen

This time, I ordered the Sweet Pie Set!

For my pie, I chose Apple Cinnamon.
The soft serve comes in milk or black tea flavor — I went with black tea.
My drink of choice: Assam Spice tea!

A generous dusting of cinnamon on top.
And plenty of juicy apple slices underneath!

Time to slice it with a fork and knife.
Here goes…
It cut beautifully!

SO incredibly delicious!!

The pie crust is light and flaky — I could keep eating forever.
The apples are wonderfully moist, and their natural sweetness pairs perfectly with the buttery pastry.

I’m a huge cinnamon fan, and this one absolutely delivers.
That warm cinnamon aroma drifting up through your nose? Heavenly.

Since the pie is freshly baked, the cinnamon melts from the heat
and wraps around the apples and crust — I could honestly eat plates of it.

The black tea soft serve has a delicate tea flavor and is wonderfully refreshing.
The combination of warm pie and cool, creamy ice cream
literally dances in your mouth.

So… I did this.

And let me tell you — it’s incredible.
The slightly melted ice cream blends with the cinnamon,
creating a rich yet refreshingly light bite.

I expected the Assam Spice tea to have a bold spicy kick,
but it turned out to be smooth and easy to drink — a perfect light pairing!

It was an absolutely wonderful lunchtime experience!
