Introducing Gelateria Yoshida

I got the scoop on a NEW OPENING, so I had to check it out!

Today I’m introducing a wonderful spot in Matsubase-machi Magarino, Uki City:
[Gelateria Yoshida].

Newly opened on November 24, 2022, this charming shop serves freshly made artisan gelato crafted from premium milk and pudding made with low-allergen eggs.

It’s tucked away on the grounds of the well-loved Japanese restaurant “Washoku Yoshida.”

Parking is shared with Washoku Yoshida.
There’s plenty of space, so you don’t have to worry about finding a spot.

The shop isn’t visible from the road, but don’t worry —
just head all the way to the back, back, back of the parking lot (yes, I said it three times because it’s important!) and you’ll find it.

It’s primarily a takeout shop, but there are also terrace seats available if you’d like to enjoy your treat on-site.

Sweets from a long-established Japanese restaurant simply can’t be anything but delicious

My expectations are sky-high👆 going in!

The retro shop logo has a wonderfully nostalgic charm.

Step inside and you’ll immediately notice the quality commitments displayed proudly✨

The eggs for the pudding come from Nasu Farm in Uki City, where they pay meticulous attention to water quality and feed.

Every gelato is made with a base of milk from Tomita-san’s farm in Higashi Ward, and prepared fresh in-store for that just-made flavor.

On the day I visited, the gleaming gelato-making equipment in the back was running at full capacity!

Here’s the menu.

● GELATO
Single: from 360 yen
Double: from 480 yen

Choose from five flavors: milk, pistachio, chocolate, black sesame, and orange (the only sherbet option).
The gelato lineup likely changes with the seasons, so there’s always something new to try.

● PUDDING
Classic Pudding: 360 yen
Hojicha (Roasted Green Tea) Pudding: 380 yen

● DRINKS
Coffee (Hot/Iced): 260 yen
Latte (Hot/Iced): 310 yen
Orange Juice: 200 yen
Apple Juice: 200 yen
Oolong Tea: 200 yen

An insulated bag for taking pudding home costs 300 yen,

but the gift box like this one is free of charge!
It makes a lovely souvenir or gift to bring to friends and family.

Gelateria Yoshida Recommended Menu

I tried the pistachio and chocolate gelato!

Here’s the chocolate with a generous sample of orange on top — what a treat!

The first thing that hits you when you take a bite is the rich, creamy milk flavor.
Simple yet showcasing the natural ingredients, with each flavor luxuriously folded in to stand up to that bold milk base.

Absolutely incredible! So delicious!

And here’s the pudding.

The round, plump shape of this adorable jar perfectly showcases the iconic shop logo.
The pudding jars can be returned for 10 yen, so be sure to hold onto them!
This pudding has an irresistibly silky, melt-in-your-mouth texture.
Vanilla beans are used so generously they sink to the bottom of the jar —
be sure to scoop from the bottom to enjoy them all.
The staff kept the caramel recipe a “secret,” but I can confirm there’s a special touch in the caramel sauce too.
You’ll have to taste it for yourself to discover the magic!

The trendy duo of pudding and gelato can now be enjoyed right here in Uki City!
