Introducing Shintogawaramachi Park

Hello there! This is Aikero, writing for Sarukuma.

Today I’m introducing a charming little spot in Shintogawara, Nishi Ward, Kumamoto City:
Shintogawaramachi Park.

I stumbled upon this park completely by chance while shopping! (laughs)

You’ll find it right next door to The Big Express Shintogawara Store.
It’s tucked just off the main road, so even regular passersby might not know it exists!♪
Let’s start with the restroom.
It’s a Japanese-style squat toilet, and impressively well-maintained and clean! (A pleasant surprise!)
Right next to the toilets, you’ll find a drinking fountain and washing area.
There are benches too!♪
They’re nicely sunny – the kind of spot that might just lull you into a nap during this season (^○^)There’s also a table near the playground equipment.
It has no roof, so it won’t shield you from rain or strong sun, but it’s a lovely spot for an outdoor snack!♪Toward the back of the park, there’s a small Shinto shrine – a wonderful little cultural surprise!Near the center stands a magnificent large tree. Thanks to that tree, there’s plenty of cool shade to enjoy (^^)There’s even a clock!

What Makes Shintogawaramachi Park Special

The slide is a simple, classic straight design.
Just behind the slide, you’ll find a seesaw.
The swings are conveniently located near the table, making it the perfect distance for parents to relax and keep an eye on the kids.

There are three different spring-mounted ride-on toys.
The sandbox is on the smaller side, but its raised edge makes a nice place to sit while playing♪

There are also stepping stones that little ones will absolutely love (●^o^●)Behind the shrine, there’s a wall perfect for ball-bouncing practice.
You’ll also spot a horizontal bar,
and the monkey bars are located on the opposite side of the park from the slide and swings.

This is the ideal park for grabbing a drink or snack and letting the kids burn off a little energy (^^)/
Little ones – don’t forget to bring your sandbox toys (●^o^●)
