Introducing NATTYS Kumamoto Fried Pizza

Today, I’m thrilled to introduce a unique food truck that’s been making waves across Kumamoto:
NATTYS Kumamoto Fried Pizza (ナッティーズ).

The sleek black truck with bold red lettering looks effortlessly cool, and the menu boards radiate a stylish, hipster-cafe vibe. You can tell at first glance that something delicious is happening here!

The owner previously ran a stone-oven pizza restaurant called “HARVEST” in Misato Town, so the pedigree is real.
With such a stylish setup and proven background, I had no doubt I was about to discover something tasty — so I stopped by to investigate.

NATTYS Kumamoto Fried Pizza — Recommended Menu

Here’s what NATTYS has on offer:

Fried Pizza Margherita — 600 yen

Quattro Formaggi (Four Cheese) — 650 yen

Fried Bread (Age-pan) in 3 flavors: Kinako (roasted soybean), Cinnamon, and Nori-Shio (seaweed salt) — 400 yen

They also serve Hotteok (Korean sweet pancakes)! Two flavors: Cheese & Honey, and Sweet Bean Paste with Butter — 550 yen

Even better, the Fried Pizza Set is just 1,150 yen and includes your choice of fried pizza, the Owner’s Signature French Fries, and a drink of your choice. Considering the fries alone are 500 yen, the set is a fantastic deal.

The “Owner’s Signature French Fries” definitely caught my attention!
By the way, the owner himself is a dapper gentleman with a fine beard (/・ω・)/

Fried pizza, fried bread, AND hotteok…

Yes.
I’ll take everything, please.

There’s no way these aren’t all going to be amazing.

Right? You can just tell from reading the menu — every single item screams deliciousness.

And the ingredients? Top-tier all the way.
The dough is made with wheat grown right here in Kumamoto Prefecture, the toppings are sourced locally (true farm-to-truck dining),
the water comes from natural spring water in Misato Town, and they fry everything in olive oil for a lighter, healthier finish.

Here’s the drink menu at NATTYS Kumamoto Fried Pizza:

Coffee and Herbal Tea — 400 yen
Orange Juice and Apple Juice — 300 yen

Coffee is a classic, of course, but I love that they offer caffeine-free herbal tea too — perfect for travelers who want a gentler option.

I genuinely wanted to order everything, but this time I went with the Margherita and the Cinnamon Fried Bread.

When I split the Margherita in half…

…fresh tomatoes and gooey cheese spilled out, releasing the most incredible aroma.
Unlike a traditional pizza, this one is folded over and fried like a calzone, which seals in all the juicy, fresh tomato goodness — absolutely irresistible.

I took one bite and immediately felt that wave of pure happiness. When I shared a bite with my daughter, her eyes lit up: “It’s SO good! I’m eating ALL of this myself!!”

My 3-year-old is famously picky, but she devoured the NATTYS fried pizza with pure joy ♪

And then the Cinnamon Fried Bread.

Cinnamon lovers around the world — THIS is what you’ve been waiting for!

Generously dusted with cinnamon, this fried bread is unbelievably delicious.

The dough has a similar texture to the pizza dough — wonderfully chewy with great bite, and surprisingly filling.

Honestly, I want to use it as a pillow.

It was THAT good.

Even with my hay-fever-stuffy nose, the cinnamon flavor came through loud and clear.

And because they fry everything in olive oil, it never feels greasy — just light and refreshing, even after polishing off the whole thing.
