Introducing Mont Blanc Fujiya
Hello travelers! This is Kanao, a writer for Sarukuma 🌱

Today I’m excited to introduce Mont Blanc Fujiya, a delightful confectionery located in Daikoku-cho, Minamata City.
After exiting the Minamata Interchange, simply continue along Route 3 and you’ll spot it on your left-hand side.
The cheerful yellow-toned exterior makes this elegant building easy to recognize ♡

For parking, cross the traffic light directly in front of the shop and turn right ◎
Look for the Mont Blanc Fujiya sign — it makes the lot easy to find.

Heads up: the parking lot entrance is a bit narrow, so please drive in carefully.
There are 5 free parking spaces reserved for customers ◎

Here’s something amazing: Mont Blanc Fujiya has been in business for over 50 years!!
It’s a beloved local sweets shop that has been treasured by the community for generations.
While the exterior is undeniably stylish, the interior is just as charming — a warm and soothing space that instantly puts you at ease ♡
If you’re visiting with little ones, we recommend using a baby carrier rather than a stroller for easier movement inside.

Inside, you’ll discover an incredible variety of sweets and treats.
Cakes, chocolates, pound cakes, souvenir gifts, fresh bread, ice cream, and so much more.
And here’s something that totally surprised me ↓

They sell bacon!! 😆
What exactly is “Fujiko Bacon,” you might wonder?
It was new to me too, so I did some research and discovered that
it’s an artisan bacon made by a local Kumamoto producer using only salt — completely free of preservatives ☺️
Mont Blanc Fujiya proudly sources fresh, high-quality local ingredients. You can really feel their commitment to wholesome, carefully selected food (^^)

This is the bread corner, located conveniently right next to the register as you walk in.
The breads are small, round, and absolutely adorable ♡
You’ll find classics like chocolate cream bread (162 yen) and cream bread (140 yen), alongside more unique creations like
purple sweet potato cream bread (162 yen) — a local twist worth trying!

These are assorted cookie sets (^^) Each pack contains a delightful mix.
Flavors include almond, black tea, sesame, and many more ◎
Many of the cookies are egg-free, making them a safe and delicious option for visitors with allergies ♪

You’ll also find a stunning lineup of beautifully decorated cakes that absolutely sparkle.

Additive-free shokupan (Japanese milk bread).
Every ingredient is clearly listed, so you can shop with total peace of mind (^^)

There’s also a lovely gift section perfect for souvenirs and omiyage.
With so many options, you can pick whatever suits your mood that day — half the fun is choosing! ♪

・Minamata Cheese (216 yen)
・Green Tea Truffle (270 yen)
・Manbo Truffle (270 yen)

Behold, the Minamaru Choux!
Just look at that gloriously overflowing cream filling 🫶
The crispy cookie-style shell is finished with organic sugar, while the inside is packed with rich, creamy custard ♡
Not only does it taste incredible, but the cookie-textured choux gives every bite a satisfying crunch ◎

On the left is the Manbo Truffle, and on the right is the Green Tea Truffle.
“Manbo” refers to a traditional sake brewed in Tsunagi Town with over 100 years of heritage. A chocolate infused with such a storied local sake — intriguing, right? ♡
Flavor-wise, you’ll detect gentle notes of sake without any harsh alcoholic bite — just a smooth, mellow richness. It’s mild and approachable, so even those who don’t usually go for liquor-flavored chocolates will enjoy it ◎
The Green Tea Truffle uses tea sourced from the renowned Sakuranoen tea farm right here in Minamata.
It features two beautiful layers — fragrant green tea and silky sweet chocolate ◎
The moment you take a bite, the deep aroma and flavor of the matcha fill your entire mouth. Absolutely delicious! ♪

And here’s the Minamata Cheese ↑
This frozen cheesecake comes in a perfect palm-sized portion — easy to enjoy in just a few bites ◎
I let mine thaw in the fridge before digging in!
The moment it hits your tongue, you get this delightfully fizzy, melt-in-your-mouth texture, paired with a refreshingly light flavor. Truly delicious (^^)
If you’re traveling through Minamata, this charming sweets shop is absolutely worth a stop! Come experience it for yourself ♡
