Introducing Aso Farm Land Genki no Mori

Today we’re heading to Minamiaso Village in Aso District to check out
[Aso Farm Land Genki no Mori].

Many of you have probably heard of this place, but maybe felt it looked like too much of a workout to actually visit?

The previously featured “Fureai Animal Kingdom,” “Genki Challenge Hall,” and “Asorindou” inside Aso Milk Farm are all located on the right side of the park!

Last time I tried to explore all of Aso Farm Land in a single visit, I ran out of energy and time before finishing — so this time I committed to just “Genki no Mori,” parked on the left side of the parking lot, and walked straight ahead. (It worked out perfectly!)

You’ll spot a sanitizing station and

get a quick disinfection from “Cleanliness-Loving Bear-san.”

Then peek in for a temperature check. The fun has already started!

Admission is ¥1,600 for adults
¥800 for children (free for kids 3 and under)

Genki no Mori boasts a whopping 60 attractions in total!

There’s even a guide showing how many attractions are recommended for your physical age.

If you’re a Sarukuma reader mom or dad, you’re probably looking at around 47 attractions!
This is a true multi-generational theme park where grandparents can join in the fun too.

I’d love to introduce all 60 attractions, but you’d probably get tired just reading about them (lol), so I’ll cherry-pick the highlights below 👇

What Makes Aso Farm Land Genki no Mori Special

Adults stagger after their kids through this rotating tunnel.

About half the attractions are under cover, so you can enjoy them rain or shine — even during Japan’s rainy season!

Whoa — even on dad’s shoulders, we couldn’t quite reach!

Dad tosses, kid catches!

Elementary school kids charge through enthusiastically, but watch out — the Adventure Zone is a hot spot for getting lost!

Some areas can be tough with a stroller, but there are alternate routes so you can bow out anywhere along the way — no worries!

Inside, you’ll find more than 20 dome-shaped buildings — similar to those famous accommodation domes nearby — each packed with attractions!

Each attraction is numbered, so detail-oriented kids will absolutely insist on tackling them in order — which can turn the maze into quite the adventure! lol

Just when you think you’ve finally escaped, this is the view that greets you:

The outdoor attractions include some steep slopes, and our 4-year-old eventually called out “I’m done!” toward the end (lol). Honestly, just the indoor attractions alone are more than enough fun.

Right at the very end, there’s a slide and

a giant slider awaits!

The King Slider has a minimum age of 6, so we’ll definitely be coming back when our little one is big enough! (^_-)-☆
The adults were utterly exhausted, but the kids’ eyes sparkled with joy from start to finish!

If Genki no Mori sounds a bit too intense, the Fureai Animal Kingdom and Genki Challenge Hall are excellent alternatives that are still loads of fun.
