Hello, fellow travelers!
This is Gussan, a writer for Sarukuma!

Today I’m excited to introduce a fantastic spot located in Kawayo, Minamiaso Village, Aso District, Kumamoto Prefecture:
【Aso Farmland Genki Challenge Hall】
This is one of Aso’s most popular tourist attractions, and best of all,
it’s an all-weather indoor facility inside Aso Farmland—perfect rain or shine!
Here’s the entrance!
The Genki Challenge Hall is divided into three main sections:
Toddler Challenge Hall — for ages 1 to 5
Genki Challenge Hall — for ages 6 to adult
Physical Age Measurement Hall — for ages 6 to adult

Since our family has preschoolers, we headed straight for the Toddler Challenge Hall!!
This area is specially designed for young children during the crucial early years when motor skills and physical foundations are formed.
They have around
40 different original exercise attractions!
This was going to be amazing! ♪♪

You purchase your ticket at the entrance, then hand it to the reception desk to enter!
Hourly rates:
Adults: ¥1,000
Children: ¥1,200
The Toddler Challenge Hall is the closest section to the entrance!
There are shoe lockers where you place your shoes.
We recommend going barefoot for kids — it’s safer and prevents slipping!!
There’s also a vending machine right next to the shoe lockers!
There are no restrooms inside the Genki Challenge Hall, but they’re located right outside the entrance!

Important rules to note: a parent or guardian must accompany children at all times, and you cannot swap supervising adults during your session.
These rules are clearly posted at the entrance, so please review them before entering.

Highlights and Recommended Features

The moment we stepped inside the Toddler Challenge Hall, the kids tossed off their socks like crumpled tissues and bolted off running!
Their excitement levels went through the roof!!
This slide isn’t really for sliding down on your bottom — it’s designed for kids to run and walk on!
Climb up the slide and you’ll find a castle waiting at the top!
The bright vitamin colors used throughout make for great Instagram-worthy photos!
There’s even a maze!
Confession time: I tried climbing up here to take a photo of the maze and ended up taking a spectacular tumble — much to the concern of all the moms watching. Yes, that was me. A painful memory in more ways than one…
There are also machines that help develop reflexes and dynamic vision!
These feel just like video games, so the kids absolutely loved them! ♪
There’s also a dedicated area for ages 0 to 2!
They have play equipment that helps babies practice pulling themselves up and cruising along furniture, plus…
…areas where babies can practice crawling and taking their first steps!
There’s even a fun interactive toy where you find a baby figure and place it in, triggering crying sounds!
Lots of cute animals to look at, too!
Watching little ones crawl through the tunnel and pop out with a smile is just the sweetest thing ever! ♪
And here’s the ball pit! ♪
