Introducing Curry Laboratory BONGA

Hello there!
Pretending not to notice the laundry piling up beside me,
it’s your SaruKuma writer Binako!

Today I’m introducing a spot located in
Tsukide, Higashi Ward, Kumamoto City:
“Curry Laboratory BONGA”.

This creative curry shop began its pre-opening on October 16.
Nearby you’ll also find “Hoshi no Karaage” and “Shunsai Gohan.”

You can park in front of the shop, and during lunchtime hours the parking lot of neighboring “Haruki Sushi” is also available for customers.

Inside, there are table seats and

counter seats too.
The grand opening is November 14, so until then it’s takeout only.

Better yet, mention you saw the flyer and you’ll get 100 yen off every item.
Definitely worth dashing over right now!

Curry Laboratory BONGA Recommended Menu

Here’s the pre-opening menu.
You can choose your spice level from mild to extra hot, so even small children can enjoy it.
(Note: the South Indian-style Pork Curry starts at medium-hot.)

For every dish, you can also order just the curry sauce, which is convenient if you’d like to use rice you have at home.

After much deliberation, this time I went with:
・Butter Chicken Curry (mild)
・South Indian-style Pork Curry (extra hot)

First, the Butter Chicken Curry.

That sweet, buttery aroma that wafts up the moment you open it
is what makes butter chicken curry so irresistible, isn’t it?

I went with the mild version this time,
and it was wonderfully easy to eat, with a smooth, mellow texture. Delicious.

It’s a sweetness that kids can enjoy too.
The creamy flavor will whisk you away to a tropical mood in an instant.

And here’s my personal indulgence: the South Indian-style Pork Curry.
I cranked it all the way up to extra hot, of course.

The sharp, lively spice blend reflects the chef’s true passion.
The well-marbled fat on the pork beautifully balances out the heat.

If you’re a heat lover, even the extra-hot is totally manageable.
Give it a try!

Cutting back on artificial seasonings and devoting themselves to spice craft, that’s “Curry Laboratory BONGA.”
Who knows — one day they may evolve into “Curry Master BONGA”!

Until November 13, takeout only.
Dine-in begins with the grand opening on November 14 — mark your calendars!
