Introducing the Ueki Childcare Support Center

Hello! I’m Asukarando, a writer for Sarukuma.

Today I’m excited to introduce a wonderful spot in Ueki-machi, Kita Ward, Kumamoto City:
The Ueki Childcare Support Center.

Tucked inside Kumamoto Municipal Yamamoto Nursery School, the Ueki Childcare Support Center is such a lovely place that I just had to share it with you (*^.^*)

【How to Use the Ueki Childcare Support Center】

Eligibility: Pre-school children and their guardians (residents of, or those working in, Kumamoto City)

Hours:
(Morning) 9:15 AM – 11:45 AM
(Afternoon) 1:00 PM – 4:30 PM

Reservations are required by phone or in person (4 family groups per time slot).

There are two parking spaces available right on the property.

A larger parking lot is also available just a short walk away — feel free to use that one too.

And here’s the entrance to the Ueki Childcare Support Center!

On sunny days, kids can play out in the spacious schoolyard ♪
There are several different slides — a real treat for active little ones (^-^)v

Visiting children even get the chance to interact with the nursery’s regular students! (^-^)v

There’s a shared restroom that you can access directly from the support room.

A child-sized toilet seat is available too, so even toddlers can use it comfortably.

Diaper changes can be handled right inside the support room.
There’s also a curtained-off space within the room for nursing mothers — a thoughtful touch.

Why We Recommend the Ueki Childcare Support Center

Just look for the Kumamon sign — that’s the entrance to the Ueki Childcare Support Center’s main playroom!

Each child gets a personal visit card, and on every visit they pick a sticker to place on today’s date.
Kids absolutely love stickers, so watching the card fill up over time becomes a fun little keepsake of their visits ☆

The playroom is packed with neatly organized toys — there’s something for everyone!

A wide variety of pretend-play kitchen toys are stocked for budding little chefs (*^.^*)

There’s a jungle gym and a slide indoors as well (^-^)v

During my visit, one of the children was celebrating a birthday, so a group birthday party was held during morning circle time.
Everyone joined in the celebration, and the birthday card included a special photo — such a heartwarming touch (*^.^*)

After that, the teachers led a sing-along and storytime session.

Each month, families also get to make a craft calendar — and the designs are seriously creative and adorable ♪

There’s even a resident turtle living at the Ueki Childcare Support Center!
Getting to see real animals up close is such a special experience for little ones (>.<)y-~

There’s also a vegetable garden on the grounds, and parents and kids were invited to harvest fresh produce together!

With its warm, welcoming teachers and beautiful natural surroundings, the Ueki Childcare Support Center is absolutely worth a visit \(^_^)(^_^)/
