Introducing kiki stand

Hello, travelers! β™ͺ
The summer heat is sticking around β€” and as someone who absolutely loves the season, I’m secretly hoping it lingers a little longer. (*^-^*)

Today I’m excited to introduce a charming spot in
Kita-ku, Kumamoto City β€”
“kiki stand.”

A brand-new donut shop that opened on September 9!

It’s a takeout-only shop, making it perfect for an afternoon snack on a warm Kumamoto day β€” and a great treat for the kids!

Walking down Kamei Shopping Street toward the tram road, you’ll spot the shop on your left! β™ͺ

Walk up the small slope and this adorable little shop comes into view! β™ͺ

There’s parking for two cars on the left side. (*^-^*)

I can hardly wait to see what kinds of donuts they have!

Let’s step inside and take a look. β™ͺ

kiki stand’s Recommended Menu

Walking in, you’re greeted by rows of adorable donuts lined up along the counter! πŸ’›

It looks like there are 8 varieties of donuts to choose from. (*^-^*)
They use flour produced in Kyushu,

and the shop is dedicated to using Japanese-grown ingredients, especially from Kumamoto Prefecture. β™ͺ

Menu (all prices include tax)
🍩 Plain β€” 180 yen
🍩 Lemon β€” 200 yen
🍩 Pear & Cinnamon β€” 250 yen
🍩 Coffee β€” 200 yen
🍩 Passion Yogurt β€” 180 yen
🍩 Chocolate Chip β€” 230 yen
🍩 Maple Walnut β€” 240 yen
🍩 Berry β€” 240 yen

I just had to lean in and admire them up close. πŸ’›

So many tempting choices…

My kids deliberated for a while and then settled on the Passion Yogurt! β™ͺ

But I also want a simple Plain one… such delightful indecision! (#^.^#)

And here’s the drink menu.

πŸ₯€ Iced Coffee β€” 380 yen
πŸ₯€ Iced Tea β€” 350 yen
πŸ₯€ Homemade Cola β€” 450 yen
πŸ₯€ Blood Orange Juice β€” 300 yen

That homemade cola sounds incredible!
It’s apparently packed with kokuto (Japanese black sugar) and a kick of spice. πŸ’›
Spice lovers, this one’s calling your name! β™ͺ

A heads-up about paid bags.

The donut box itself is included in the price. (*^-^*)
If you’d like an extra carrying bag, please refer to the pricing here!

They also serve coffee here.

The shop uses house-roasted beans from “Nakayama Yoko,” a long-established roaster in Nagasaki.

β˜• Iced Coffee β€” 450 yen β€” Rich, full-bodied authentic iced coffee
β˜• Drip Bag “Oranda-zaka Coffee” β€” 108 yen β€” A gentle, deep-flavored Colombian-based blend
β˜• Drip Bag “Capitan Coffee” β€” 108 yen β€” A blend with the bitterness of Mandheling and the richness of Mocha
β˜• Drip Bag “Yoko Blend” β€” 108 yen β€” An original blend of Santos, Colombian, Mocha, and Guatemalan beans

Donuts and coffee β€” sounds like the perfect cozy afternoon treat at home! β™ͺ

After much deliberation, I just blurted out:
“One of every donut, please! (lol)”
Yes, I came ready to feast.

So… here we go! (lol)

I brought them home and lined them all up. πŸ˜‹

What a sight! ( *Β΄θ‰Έο½€) The kids’ little hands started reaching in fast β€” I’d better introduce them quick!

First up β€”

Let’s start simple with the Plain! β™ͺ

The dough is wonderfully fluffy, dusted with sugar, and gives way to a soft, melt-in-your-mouth bite.
The simple, just-right sweetness is gentle and timeless β€” you’ll find yourself reaching for another in no time. (*Β΄β–½ο½€*)

Next up:

“Chocolate Chip”

Dusted with powdered sugar, and the moment you bite in, you get a delightful crunch from the chocolate chips inside.
The gentle sweetness of the chocolate pairs beautifully with the powdered sugar for a satisfying finish.

“Ahh β€” I should’ve grabbed a coffee on my way home,” I thought, more than a little regretful…
This one looks like a sure-fire hit with the kids too. (*^-^*)

This one’s the “Passion Yogurt”

A donut where passion fruit and yogurt come together in delicious harmony.

I snuck a bite from my kids who were happily munching away β€”
Wow! The tangy sweetness of passion fruit and yogurt blends into something incredibly refreshing,

with that bright tropical fruit flavor that’s light and so easy to enjoy.

“Pear & Cinnamon”

A more grown-up donut featuring locally grown Kumamoto pears.
The warm, sweet aroma of cinnamon and its spicy aftertaste really bring out the natural sweetness of the pear.

This one was a total bullseye for me β€” every bite delivers that gentle pear flavor, and I highly recommend it.

“Lemon”

The lemon flesh and zest topping is fantastic!!

The tartness of the lemon and the subtle bitterness of the zest leave a refreshingly clean finish in your mouth β€”
bound to be a hit with kids and adults alike!

“Maple Walnut”

Maple x walnut πŸ’› β€” what a dreamy combination!

The crunchy walnuts wrapped in maple syrup make for a really satisfying bite,
and that mellow maple sweetness is utterly tempting.

“Coffee”

This one! Coffee lovers, you absolutely must try this!

It has a deep, slightly bitter flavor with a real sense of robust coffee beans β€” a sophisticated treat for grown-up palates.

If you’re not a fan of overly sweet desserts, this is the one!
The distinctive coffee flavor and depth make it surprisingly easy to enjoy.

And finally! β™ͺ “Berry”

The one my kids had their eye on β€” the tangy-sweet raspberry flavor blooms across your palate

and disappears in bite after happy bite.

Another sure-fire favorite with the little ones! πŸ’›

The donut dough is wonderfully fluffy and tender, never greasy β€” light, gentle, and easy to eat,
so it feels like you could keep going forever. The satisfaction level is wonderfully high!

The toppings and glazes change a little each week, so there’s always something new to try!

I’m especially looking forward to seasonal-fruit donuts.
They also accept reservations, so once you find your favorite, you can reserve ahead to make sure you get it.
