Introducing Ida Seika

Hello, travelers!
This is Igaguri, your SaruKuma writer 🌰

Today I’m taking you to a hidden gem located in
Noguchi, Taimei-machi, Tamana City, Kumamoto Prefecture
“Ida Seika”.

Sitting roughly halfway between JR Onoshimo Station and JR Tamana Station,
this little shop is right along the road connecting Nagasu and Tamana — meaning many of you have probably driven past it and wondered what’s inside!

I was definitely one of those curious passersby.
Word on the street was that the sweets here are absolutely delicious… ( ̄ー ̄)ニヤリ

Nearby you’ll find the Tamana City Taimei Branch Office and Yamashita Park — convenient landmarks if you’re navigating the area.

Cookies (almond, walnut, hazelnut) — 400 yen

Apple Pie — Large 300 yen / Small 150 yen
The hand-lettered hiragana label adds such a charming, homemade touch!

Traditional Japanese sweets (wagashi) are also on offer!
The shop’s kasutera manju (castella-style steamed buns) is said to be especially famous (^^♪

This time, I picked up a salted caramel macaron, Kiri cheese cake, fresh cream roll, and pie cream puff.
All of that came to just 750 yen — incredible value!

And let me tell you — these macarons are the real deal!
As someone who has actually taken macaron-making classes at a pastry school, I can confidently say…
these are 100% authentic French-style macarons!

An old-fashioned Japanese sweets shop where anko and macarons coexist in harmony.
It’s a truly rare combination, even by Japanese standards.

The Kiri cheese cake had a soft, soufflé-like texture, and together with the fresh cream roll, both delivered a lovely nostalgic flavor!
These are sweets that appeal to absolutely everyone — kids, parents, and grandparents alike ☺

The atmosphere reminded me of Nagasakiya, another local shop I’ve reviewed before ♪

And now, the shop’s signature item — the Pie Cream Puff!

Wow, wow, wow!

Look at all that cream!!

Absolutely stuffed to the brim!!

Although the cream isn’t piped in on the spot, the pie pastry was wonderfully crisp and flaky — just irresistible (⋈◍>◡<◍)。✧♡

The cream itself isn’t overly sweet, making it perfect even for kids!
…So perfect, in fact, that my little one devoured most of it. I only got one bite — should’ve bought two!

Even the cake box itself is adorable ♡
The friendly grandma at the counter greets every customer with the warmest smile — it’s the kind of welcome that makes your day!
