Welcome to Sakurayama Park

Hello there!
This is Asukarando, your Sarukuma writer.

Today I’m excited to introduce a hidden gem located in Eikicho, Shisui-machi, Kikuchi City, Kumamoto Prefecture:
“Sakurayama Park”.

Let me show you around Sakurayama Park, a charming spot featuring a wide-open field and a small grassy hill (^-^)/

Heads-up on parking: there are only two designated accessible parking spaces (Heartful Pass mark) available at the park itself.

Right in front of the park, there’s a community house scheduled to open in February 2021 (Reiwa 3), so visitors may be able to use that facility as well.

The restrooms are spotlessly clean and even include a diaper-changing station — great for families with little ones (^-^)

A handwashing station sits conveniently in the center of the park.

There are also two covered benches with roofs — perfect for resting in any weather (^-^)

You’ll find additional benches scattered throughout the park as well.

The spacious open field is perfect for kicking around a ball or just running free (^-^)/

There’s even a walking trail for a relaxing stroll (^-^)

What Makes Sakurayama Park Special

The standout attraction at Sakurayama Park is the long slide that comes shooting down from the top of a small grassy hill \(^o^)/

This little hilltop slide is so much fun, kids will keep climbing back up for another go!

The grassy hillside also looks like it could be perfect for grass sledding (^-^)

There’s also a smaller slide designed just for tiny tots (^-^)/
And as the name suggests (“sakura” means cherry blossom), the park has cherry trees, making it a lovely spot for hanami (cherry blossom viewing) in spring (^o^)

If you’re after a quiet, laid-back atmosphere, Sakurayama Park is highly recommended (⌒0⌒)/~~
