Today I’m excited to introduce you to
a lovely little patisserie tucked away in
Hagiwara-machi, Chuo Ward, Kumamoto City:
[Quatre-Quarts (Catre Cal)].
“Handmade Sweets That Bring Happiness”…
Just the name alone is enough to win me over! ♡
The shop sits along the old Hamasen road, so it’s easy to find (^^)
Parking is available right in front of the shop.

It’s a cozy, intimate cake shop, but
the inside is packed wall-to-wall with delicious-looking treats.
And here’s the best part!
Almost everything is at wonderfully reasonable prices ♪

Strawberry Shortcake — 346 yen
Cheesecake — 302 yen

These prices are such a pleasant surprise!
You can buy so much… just thinking about it,
my eyes start darting around and I get a little flustered.

The decorated whole cakes were proudly on display too.
Birthday cakes can also be reserved in advance.
Plenty of baked sweets, perfect as souvenirs
for friends and family back home, are lined up too.
Pre-assembled gift boxes are also available, which is a lifesaver
when you’re short on time and just want to choose by price.

Marron (Chestnut) Pie — 270 yen

So tempting… seriously tempting…
I have a soft spot for pie crust!
At Quatre-Quarts, the showcase counter was lined
with all sorts of decorative candles!
Hello Kitty, Barbie, Plarail trains,

even Disney Princesses and One Piece characters!
You rarely see such a wide selection in one place (^^)

I instantly filed this away in my mental
“this might come in handy someday” memory bank.There’s also an eat-in corner, so you can
relax and enjoy your sweets right in the shop ♪
The interior is charmingly cute as well.
My photo turned out a bit awkward — sorry about that!
The staff at Quatre-Quarts were so warm and friendly (^^)
When I told them my pickup time, they kindly added ice packs
to keep everything fresh on the way home.

Figs are something you don’t get to enjoy very often.
This fig pie was the one I wanted most this time around,
and it absolutely lived up to the hype.
That natural fig sweetness — wow, just wow!
Chestnut Tart — 432 yen
Chestnut paired with fresh whipped cream —
how could that not be amazing? ♪
It’s not too sweet either, which makes it even better.
I could easily polish off three of these.Quatre-Quarts truly lives up to its “handmade sweets that bring happiness” concept —
a lovely, heartwarming idea brought to life in every bite (^^)
