Today, let me introduce you to a hidden little gem in
Ryohazama, Tamana City, Kumamoto Prefecture:
“Shin-Tamana Station Plaza”.

A beautifully manicured grass plaza right outside Shin-Tamana Station! (^-^)

For parking, you can use the paid lot at Shin-Tamana Station, and trust me — it is HUGE!!!

Best of all, the first hour is FREE, and after that it is just 100 yen per hour. A very wallet-friendly rate! (^-^)/

Around the lawn, there is a paved path that is perfect for a leisurely walk! (^-^)/

The lawn is actually divided into two separate sections.

There are also covered benches with roofs (^-^)
Plenty of seating dotted around the park, so you can rest whenever you like (^-^)

The restrooms are located right next to the park.

You will also find a diaper changing table and a kid-sized toilet inside (^-^)

Why You Should Visit

The Kyushu Shinkansen zips by right in front of you!!!

For little train enthusiasts who are obsessed with Plarail or bullet trains,
a park where you can watch the Shinkansen up close is pure magic! (^-^)/

On the day I visited, a little boy around two years old was waving excitedly,
shouting “Shinkansen! Bye-bye!” with the biggest smile (^-^)

The lawn sits low with a gentle slope around it, so balls do not roll off the edges — ideal for stress-free ball games with the kids! (⊙0⊙)/~~

The non-grassy areas are great for flying RC cars too! (^-^)/
