I’m Binako, a writer for SaruKuma, and lately I’ve been hooked on watching Kyou Kara Ore wa!! alongside my son, who records every episode.

Today, I’m thrilled to introduce you to a charming little gem located in Kawashiri, Minami Ward, Kumamoto City:
“Gateau Annry”.

The shop was already buzzing with customers from early morning — a clear testament to its popularity!

Parking is available both in front of and behind the shop, with 9 spots in total.

Plenty of parking is always a welcome bonus for visitors driving in!

Step inside, and to your left — freshly baked breads!

And to your right — a beautiful patisserie!

What a wonderful hybrid concept! It’s truly a treat to find both under one roof.

There are sandwiches that are just perfect for lunch, and even shareable packs for groups or families.

Here’s one of Gateau Annry’s most popular items:
Adult-Style Katsu Curry Bread — 200 yen
That irresistibly crispy outer shell is something to behold!

Baguette — 250 yen
Another crowd favorite — many shoppers were picking these up during my visit.

Chocolate Scone — 110 yen
Walnut Scone — 110 yen

Black Tea & Apple Bread — 560 yen
Apple Bread — 750 yen
With such seasonal goodies on display, it’s hard to resist the urge to grab one of each!

And the cakes are equally tempting:
Mille-feuille — 420 yen
Muscat Tart — 460 yen

Daily Limited Apple Pie — 850 yen
is also available — but only while supplies last!

Whole cakes are also offered, making this the perfect spot for birthdays and special occasions!

Sandwiches — 280 yen each!

Easy-open packaging — so convenient!

The combination of cheese, ham, and crisp, fresh cucumber is absolutely irresistible!

It’s the simplicity of a classic sandwich that makes it so satisfying!
That nostalgic, comforting flavor reminds me of childhood — a true taste of home.

Next up — the egg sandwich!

The fluffy, lightly sweetened egg paired with the savory ham is, well, simply heavenly. It’s also gentle enough for kids to enjoy — a sandwich that’s delicious anytime!

When I eat sandwiches,
I always start from the edges and save the best — the middle — for last!
