About the Facility

Hello, travelers! It’s Rennyu here.

Today we’re heading to Haramizu, Kikuyo Town, Kikuchi District to check out
the “Kikuyo Town Library” (Kikuyo-machi Toshokan).

The parking lot is conveniently located right next to the building \(Ο‹)/β™©

Since the library shares its grounds with an adjoining hall,
the parking area is nice and spacious \(Ο‹)/

There’s also a bus stop nearby, so you can easily get here by public transit, too.

As an infection prevention measure, long stays inside aren’t allowed.

Temperature checks are conducted at the entrance β€” a reassuring touch!
And of course, masks are a must β™ͺ

Right at the entrance, you’ll find a display of recommended books.

If you’re not sure what to read to your little one, this is the place to look!

The children’s corner is wonderfully spacious.

And right next to the baby area, you’ll find a nursing room β€” what a relief for parents!

Libraries are meant to be quiet spaces, so
being able to change diapers and nurse right next to the baby area
is honestly such a relief.

For infection prevention, the number of seats has been reduced to about half the usual amount.

We visited around 2 p.m. on a Saturday, and there was plenty of room
to maintain social distancing Κ•β€’α΄₯β€’Κ”b

The bookshelves are sized just right for kids, so
little ones can pick out their own books to read.

The picture book area for babies has tatami-style floor seating!

This is where we settled in to enjoy some picture books today ☺︎

There’s a great variety of picture books, perfect for ages 0 and up β™ͺ

The shelves in the baby area are even lower.
Even the smallest readers can browse and choose alongside mom β™ͺ

It’s not just kids’ books either β€” there’s a solid selection of parenting guides too.

Looks like a great spot to enjoy reading together with your kids!
(Today, I had my hands full just reading aloud to my own little one (Β΄οΌ›Ο‰οΌ›ο½€)

Library card eligibility is limited to residents of Kikuyo Town, those who commute to work or school in Kikuyo Town,
and residents of Kikuchi City, Koshi City, and Ozu Town ☺︎

If you live, work, or attend school in Kikuyo Town, you can sign up for a library card.

For folks living outside town, you can get a card if you reside in Kikuchi City, Koshi City, or Ozu Town
and have a library card from your home municipality.

That said, anyone is welcome to read inside the library β™ͺ

Even just spending time inside is more than enough to enjoy with your kids ο½₯:*+.

How about it as a destination on a rainy day?

Just remember to follow infection prevention guidelines, and definitely give it a visit ☺︎

We update our Instagram daily, too!

We’d love a follow! (*Β΄βˆ€ο½€*)
