Hello, travelers!
This is Kurumikko, your SaruKuma writer (^^)

Today we’re heading to
Suya in Koshi City, Kumamoto Prefecture,
to check out 【Kumamoto Gelato】.

Tucked away in a quiet residential neighborhood along the expressway,
the shop’s bright yellow exterior makes it impossible to miss!

There’s parking for 3 to 4 cars right in front of the shop,
and benches outside let you enjoy your gelato in the open air ☺

A warm, homey atmosphere (*‘∀‘)

The walls are decorated with sweet letters from local elementary school children — such a charming touch!

The eat-in space seats around 12 people, and
families were streaming in one after another while we were there!

They also offer a wonderful selection of cup gelato — perfect for souvenirs or gifts.

A treat that delights everyone, no matter their age (*’▽’*)

Here’s the gelato menu

A treasure chest of a display case! (*´▽`*)

When we visited in November, the lineup included:

□ Wild Raspberry □ Fresh Chocolate □ Chocolate Chip
□ Mocha Coffee □ Strawberry Milk □ Red Wine
□ Shichijo Melon (a famous Kumamoto melon) □ Dark Cherry □ Mikan (Japanese mandarin orange)
□ Milk □ Yuzu (Japanese citrus) □ Caramel □ Matcha (green tea)

Such a vibrant, mouthwatering rainbow of flavors! (*’▽’*)

Can’t decide? Don’t worry — there’s a solution!

The 7-Flavor Sampler is available for 648 yen (adults) / 496 yen (children) (・ω・ノ)ノ!

It looks absolutely spectacular — come hungry and give it a go!

Recommended Menu Items

This time, we ordered the Kids Size and the 2-Flavor Combo.

Kids Size (for children up to lower elementary grades) — Strawberry Milk flavor

And the price is unbelievable…

Just 108 yen!

What incredible generosity!

Rounded into a perfect little dome, it’s just the right shape and size for little hands.

The crunchy waffle cone is another delightful bonus!

You can really feel why this place is loved by the local community (*´ω`*)

I went with the 2-Flavor Combo (324 yen)Mocha Coffee and Shichijo Melon.

Choosing in front of the display case was a delightful dilemma!

But honestly, the moments spent deciding are part of the fun ☺

The gelato had a soft, melt-in-your-mouth texture
with a luxurious, velvety smoothness — absolutely delicious (*´▽`*)

It’s so refreshing that even my child happily polished off every bite!

The weather may be turning chilly, but ice cream in winter has its own special magic ♡
I can’t wait to come back with my kids again (^^♪

Thank you for the wonderful treat!
