A Look Back at October

We held another wonderful session of “Kasumiso Hiroba,” the parent and child community gathering born from SaruKuma!

This time, we were thrilled to welcome back Chisato-sensei, a popular returning guest from last year. She’s a registered nurse with 17 years of experience who runs a baby massage class in Kumamoto City.

We started off with some interactive bonding play and picture book reading. The little ones were completely captivated by the stories!
After enjoying a relaxing oil massage, some of our little friends drifted off into a peaceful sleep!

Next up was our crawling and toddling race!
One little friend had only learned to crawl three days before the event.
Some babies who normally crawl like champions wouldn’t budge an inch, others burst into tears, and one even decided to stand up by holding onto our editor-in-chief! It turned into a wonderfully unpredictable, laughter-filled crawling race.

Once again, Yusui Nursery School Toyooka kindly lent us a height and weight scale along with a variety of toys.

Restrooms: Western-style, no baby seat, but the multipurpose room has a diaper changing station
Nursing is welcome too!

Whether you live in Koshi City or not, whether you have a baby or not — everyone is welcome!
It’s totally fine if your child cries, runs around, or if you arrive late or need to leave early!
Kids will be kids, and that’s perfectly okay!
