“Karaage Shokunin” (which translates to “Fried Chicken Artisan”).

This wonderful little karaage shop is conveniently located inside the Ozu Michi-no-Eki (roadside station)—a perfect pit stop for road trippers exploring Kumamoto!

Helpful portion-size samples are displayed right at the order counter, making it super easy to decide—even if you don’t speak Japanese! ♪

Jidori Sumibi-yaki (Charcoal-Grilled Free-Range Chicken) — 350 yen per pack
The charcoal-grilled free-range chicken is reportedly a fan favorite—and honestly, I’m a huge fan too! It’s the perfect smoky, savory bite.
