Welcome to Koyama Resort Hidden Hot Spring

Hello there!
It’s Rikotama, writing for SaruKuma!

The sunshine is starting to feel a bit warmer these days, but rainy and cloudy days are still pretty chilly!
So today, I’m introducing the perfect remedy — a hot spring!

It’s tucked away in Matsubase Town, Uki City, Kumamoto Prefecture —
the [Koyama Resort Hidden Hot Spring]!!

From central Kumamoto City, drive along Route 266 toward the Jonan and Matsubase area, and you’ll spot this sign!

There’s plenty of parking!

There’s even a second parking lot!

[Koyama Resort] proudly offers 100% free-flowing natural hot spring water!

And there’s free Wi-Fi, too!

Here’s the entrance!
Tropical vibes everywhere you look!

Pay your fee at the reception desk!
Hours: 10:00–22:00 (last admission 21:00)

Step inside and you’re greeted by the gentle aroma of incense!
They sell all sorts of incense goods, too!

Ahhh, so soothing…

Just past reception, we spotted gachapon (capsule toy) machines!
Of course the kids couldn’t resist!
In our case, we ended up buying a Gundam capsule toy…

Even the restrooms have a tropical feel!

From here, the path splits into the large public bath and the private family baths!

What Makes Koyama Resort Special

For our visit, the family treated ourselves to a private family bath!
On weekends, you get a 50-minute soak slot!

The changing room is equipped with a hairdryer!

Time to take the plunge!

Wow!

The morning sun streams in beautifully — what a lovely atmosphere!
There’s plenty of room for a family of three!

The ceiling is high, and the water feels wonderfully soft and silky.

We chose the family bath with semi-open-air garden, so we got a little garden area attached!
My husband and son had a blast going back and forth between the bath and the garden!

[Koyama Resort] opens at 10:00, and we arrived at 10:10 — but to our surprise, 8 of the 10 family bath rooms were already taken!

Since several different bath types are available, we strongly recommend arriving early on weekends!

Step inside and you’re whisked away to the tropics 🍍 — pure resort getaway vibes!

Come pay [Koyama Resort] a visit — you won’t regret it!
