📌 What you’ll learn in this article
A Sarukuma writer visits “blooom,” a stylish food truck roaming all over Kumamoto Prefecture. Prices start from just 500 yen. We’ve also rounded up family-friendly tips, access info, and opening hours.

Meet blooom

Hi there! It’s Riri, your Sarukuma writer (^^♪

Today I want to introduce you to a charming food truck called “blooom”!

Just look at this chic, stylish food truck! From the very first glance, it looks like the kind of place moms (and stylish travelers!) instantly fall in love with.

But wait… what exactly is a “pita pocket”? Some kind of fried bread? Let’s solve the mystery together!

Here’s a peek at the menu↓

The menu actually changes depending on the day, so each visit feels like a little surprise.

Here’s a fun fact: blooom is run by a sister-and-brother team. The brother runs what may be Kumamoto Prefecture’s first “root-restricted” grape farm, located in Misato Town!
The grapes are grown inside special pots so the roots can’t spread too widely, which concentrates all that delicious flavor into the fruit (^^).
They even have menu items featuring Shine Muscat grapes from his farm!
I’d love to come back during the August–September grape harvest season for round two!

The current star of the show, however, is the pita pocket. So what is a pita?

It’s a flat, round bread about 20 cm in diameter, traditionally enjoyed across the Mediterranean, the Middle East, and North Africa.
The word “pita” actually comes from Hebrew and simply means “bread” ♬

blooom’s Must-Try Menu

Here are the items you absolutely shouldn’t miss ♬

・Pita Pocket (choose your spice level + free cheese topping) — 500 yen

・Strawberry Chiffon Cake — 400 yen

The pita is a one-handed dream — a total lifesaver for parents (and travelers juggling cameras and maps!).
Food trucks are usually outdoors, right?
Trying to eat a rice bowl while watching the kids run around is no joke. Plus, this pita is packed with veggies ♡

And the cheese topping is FREE. I mean… look at it ♡♡♡

Even better — you can pick your spice level (Hot or Mild), making it perfect for kids and spice-shy eaters too.
I ordered the mild version because I can’t handle heat, and it really wasn’t spicy at all. Totally kid-friendly!

It’s hearty, packed with fillings, oozing with melted cheese, and has bread with real bite. A satisfying meal for just 500 yen — what’s not to love?

And then there’s the chiffon cake ♡

Isn’t it HUGE?? Loaded with fresh whipped cream and strawberries — and still just 400 yen!
When they handed it to me, I literally blurted out, “Whoa, that’s massive!” 😂
Who says inflation is a thing? Not blooom!

Holding it with one hand was a serious challenge — strawberries and whipped cream practically tumbling over the edge ♡
The sponge was unbelievably fluffy ♡♡♡

blooom is based in Kashima Town but pops up at events all over Kumamoto Prefecture. If you spot this stylish food truck on your travels, definitely stop by! I’m already curious about their sweet pita pockets too ♡
