Introducing Sashikigawa Greenery Park

Today I’m excited to introduce [Sashikigawa Greenery Park], located in Ashikita Town, Ashikita District in southern Kumamoto Prefecture.

This lush green park is packed with well-maintained playground equipment and open spaces,
making it the perfect spot for families with little ones (^^)
There’s a parking area near the entrance to Sashikigawa Greenery Park.
It fits about 10 cars, so getting here by car is easy and convenient! ♪

Right after stepping out of the parking lot, you’ll find restrooms.
The charming log-cabin-style design is a nice touch! ♪
The interior isn’t separated by gender, but it has Western-style toilets, urinals for men, and a hand-washing area.
It was kept beautifully clean, so we had a comfortable experience! ◎

As you head into Sashikigawa Greenery Park, you’ll spot adorable animal-shaped play equipment.
There are so many different animals — little kids will absolutely light up! ♪
The nostalgic, retro design is also soothing for the grown-ups (^ ^)
Here’s the snail, by the way.
Its plump, rounded body is just too cute (＾＾)
My son’s favorite is this seal! ♪
He always climbs on its back grinning from ear to ear ◎ haha

Top Highlights of Sashikigawa Greenery Park

① The Famous Elephant Slide

This slide is the main attraction of Sashikigawa Greenery Park! ◎
Located in the heart of the park, it’s a hit with kids of all ages.
Locals even nickname the park “Zou-san Park” (Elephant Park) after this beloved slide!
The stairs are a bit steep, so please keep an eye on smaller children as they climb.
My son went on an endless slide marathon again this time…( ＾∀＾)
Highly recommended for kids who love slides!

② Spacious Lawn Area
Sashikigawa Greenery Park has plenty of large shade trees and benches, so you’ll never run out of places to rest! ◎
The lawn is beautifully maintained, making it perfect for spreading out a picnic mat for lunch or snacks!
When I visited, families were playing ball and badminton on the grass too.
The lawn area is full of wildflowers and plants, so you can enjoy a bit of nature observation too! ♡
My son had a blast finding dandelions and ladybugs while strolling around!
③ The Sashiki River! ♪
At low tide, you can head down to the riverside to spot all sorts of river creatures! ♡
If you’re with little ones, please make sure an adult is supervising for safety.
