About the Park

Hello there!
This is Asukarando, your SaruKuma writer.

Today we’re heading out to explore
Ikeda, Nishi-ku, Kumamoto City, where you’ll find
“Ikeda 1-chome Nishi Children’s Park”.

Don Quijote Kami-Kumamoto — this lovely little park is just a short walk from the well-known discount store.
There’s no parking lot at the park itself, but if you use a nearby paid parking lot or stop in at Don Quijote, you can get 3 hours free on weekdays and 2 hours free on weekends (^-^)/

Hand-washing station: there’s one right by the park entrance.Restrooms here are Japanese-style (squat) toilets.

Covered benches — there are two of these dotted around the park.

Around the perimeter, you’ll find plenty of regular benches too.

The path that loops around the park makes for a lovely little walking course.
Perfect for a bit of light exercise (^-^)/

What We Loved

My son made a beeline straight for this eye-catching play structure (^-^)

Look at him having an absolute blast (^-^)

A bumpy, wavy slide ~(⌒0⌒)／~~

And here’s a fun structure where your voice echoes when you call out “Hellooo!” (^-^)/

The cute animal-shaped seesaw looks like loads of fun too!

This climbing net — simple, but a teeny bit nerve-wracking (^^;

Tucked away at the very back, there are swings too (^-^)
